## Changelog

### 0.1 - unreleased

Initial version.

- Converts PNG, JPG, JFIF, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF and GIF images to JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF or
  BMP with ImageMagick.
- **Converts up to 100 images per run.** Every result is stored under its own filename and the set
is packed into one `images.zip`, which is what `OUTPUT` and `run-sync` return. A single image is
returned as the image itself. Past 192 MB of output the run writes a `MANIFEST.json` listing the
results instead, because the archive is assembled in memory.
- Accepts the sources as an array of URLs or uploads in `files`, a single URL in `file`, or base64.
- **A file that fails does not stop the batch.** Each file gets its own dataset record with an `ok`
flag and, when it failed, a plain-language reason; the run fails only if nothing converted.
Records are pushed as each file finishes, so an interrupted run keeps what it had.
- De-duplicates output keys, so two folders that both hold an `IMG_0001.png` produce
`IMG_0001.jpg` and `IMG_0001-2.jpg` rather than one silently replacing the other.
- Caps a run at 100 files, 512 MB of input, 100 MB per file, 100 MP per image and 2 GP overall, and
gives every download a 120 second timeout, refusing with a message that names the limit rather
  than timing out halfway through.
- Flattens transparency onto a chosen `backgroundColor`, defaulting to white, whenever the output
format cannot store an alpha channel. A colour ImageMagick does not recognise fails the run
instead of silently producing a black background, which is what it does when left alone.
- Reads the file header rather than the extension to identify the source format, so a `.jfif` is
reported as the JPEG it is, and a PDF, SVG, HTML error page or video file is refused by name
instead of producing an ImageMagick delegate error.
- Applies EXIF orientation, optional downscaling, optional conversion into sRGB, and optional
stripping of EXIF, XMP and IPTC while keeping the ICC colour profile.
- Converts the first frame of an animated GIF, animated WebP or APNG, with a warning, rather than
  writing one file per frame.
- Built on Debian trixie: bookworm's libheif 1.15.1 drops the alpha channel in both directions
through AVIF, so a transparent AVIF converted to JPG came out black.
