## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 store listings

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Apify Store Market Research & Niche Finder

Thinking about building an Actor? Find out first where the users are and where competition is thin. This Actor reads the public Apify Store listing for each of your search terms and gives you, per Actor, the monthly and weekly users, momentum, growth since your last run, pricing model and price, rating and reviews. It also ranks the niches.

### Niche report

Besides the dataset, each run saves a `NICHE_REPORT` record in the key-value store. One row per search term:

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `monthlyUsersTotal` | Sum of 30-day users of all Actors found: the size of the niche |
| `seriousCompetitors` | Actors with at least 20 monthly users |
| `leader` | The biggest Actor and its share of the niche's users |
| `medianPaidPriceUsd` | What paid Actors in the niche typically charge |
| `avgTopRating` | Average rating of the top 5; below 4 means users are unhappy with what exists |
| `opportunityScore` | Demand divided by competition, boosted when leaders are weakly rated |

Run it weekly on a schedule: `users30dChange` then shows which Actors and niches are growing.

### Input example

```json
{ "searchTerms": ["invoice", "tender", "vat", "real estate"], "maxItemsPerSearch": 100 }
```

### Pricing

You pay per collected listing (event `store-item`).

### Notes

Uses the public Apify Store API; no login needed. Usage numbers are the ones Apify shows publicly and are a proxy for revenue, not revenue itself.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

One niche per line. Each term is searched separately and gets its own row in the niche report. Empty = the whole Store by popularity.

## `category` (type: `string`):

Apify Store category, e.g. AI, LEAD_GENERATION, ECOMMERCE, DEVELOPER_TOOLS.

## `maxItemsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

How many listings to collect for each term.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order in which the Store returns listings.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchTerms": [
    "invoice",
    "pdf",
    "tender",
    "procurement",
    "vat",
    "company register",
    "ai agent"
  ],
  "maxItemsPerSearch": 100,
  "sortBy": "popularity"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per Apify Store Actor per search term: users, momentum, growth since last run, pricing and rating.

## `nicheReport` (type: `string`):

Per search term: total monthly users, serious competitors, leader share, median paid price and opportunity score.
