## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk PageSpeed Insights & Core Web Vitals Checker

Test **hundreds of URLs** with Google PageSpeed Insights in one run, on **mobile and desktop**, and get the results as a table you can sort, export to Excel or connect to Google Sheets.

### What you get per URL and device

- **Lighthouse scores** (0-100): performance, accessibility, best practices, SEO.
- **Lab metrics**: FCP, LCP, TBT, CLS, Speed Index, time to interactive, server response time, page weight.
- **Real-user Core Web Vitals** from the Chrome UX Report: LCP, INP, CLS, FCP and TTFB at the 75th percentile, each rated good / needs-improvement / poor, plus Google's **passed / failed** verdict. When a page has too little traffic, the whole site's data is used (`fieldData.level = "origin"`).
- **Top fixes**: the biggest improvement opportunities ranked by estimated time saved, bytes saved or layout-shift saved.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": ["https://example.com", "https://example.com/pricing", "competitor.com"],
  "strategies": ["mobile", "desktop"]
}
```

### Use cases

SEO audits for clients, monitoring your own site after releases (schedule it weekly), comparing competitors, finding the slowest pages of a large site, reporting Core Web Vitals to management.

### Pricing

One event `page-tested` per URL and device that was tested successfully. Errors (invalid URL, page not reachable for Google) are not charged.

### Notes

- Results come from Google's official PageSpeed Insights API and Chrome UX Report API, the same data as pagespeed.web.dev.
- Lab scores naturally vary a few points between runs.
- For very large volumes you can add your own free Google API key.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Pages to test, one per line. https:// is added when missing.

## `strategies` (type: `array`):

Each URL is tested on every selected device.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Scores to calculate (0-100).

## `includeFieldData` (type: `boolean`):

Adds Chrome UX Report field data (LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, TTFB at p75) for the URL, or for the whole site when the page has too little traffic.

## `maxOpportunities` (type: `integer`):

How many improvement opportunities to list, biggest savings first.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Each test takes 10-40 seconds on Google's side.

## `googleApiKey` (type: `string`):

Only needed for very large volumes. Free from Google Cloud (enable the PageSpeed Insights API and Chrome UX Report API).
