## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Visa Sponsor Register API - Skilled Worker Sponsors

Returns **every company licensed to sponsor UK work visas** from the official **Home Office Register of licensed sponsors (workers)**, which GOV.UK republishes every working day: **organisation name, town/city, county, rating (A / B / Provisional) and visa route** (Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, Scale-up, Creative Worker, Seasonal Worker and more).

Filter by **town, county, visa route, rating or company name**, export to Excel / CSV / Google Sheets, or schedule it with **Only new sponsors** to get the companies that were licensed since your last run.

### Who uses it

- **Job seekers who need visa sponsorship:** a ready list of employers in your city that can legally sponsor you.
- **Recruiters and staffing agencies:** new sponsors are companies actively hiring from abroad - perfect leads.
- **Immigration lawyers and relocation services:** monitor newly licensed and downgraded (B-rated) sponsors.
- **Researchers and journalists:** sponsor counts by city, county, route and sector.

### Why this actor

- **Official source, always current:** downloads the latest register published on GOV.UK on every run.
- **Clean, filterable rows** with a parsed `rating` and `licenceType` field and a Companies House search link.
- **Only-new mode** for daily monitoring - you pay only for new sponsors.
- **Fast and cheap:** the whole register (100,000+ licences) is processed in seconds. **$1.00 per 1000 results.**

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |

| `maxItems` | integer | Stop after this many results. |

```json
{ "towns": ["London"], "routes": ["Skilled Worker"], "ratings": ["A rating"], "maxItems": 500 }
```

### Output

```json
{
  "organisationName": "Example Software Ltd",
  "townCity": "London",
  "county": "Greater London",
  "typeAndRating": "Worker (A rating)",
  "rating": "A",
  "licenceType": "Worker",
  "route": "Skilled Worker",
  "source": "https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/.../Worker_and_Temporary_Worker.csv"
}
```

### Get new sponsors every day

Turn on `onlyNew` and create a **Schedule** in Apify (for example every morning). Each run returns only sponsors that were not in earlier runs with the same filters, so you never pay twice for the same company.

### Pricing

**$1.00 per 1000 results**, no start fee. Use `maxItems` and filters to control cost.
