## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## On-Page SEO Audit: Bulk SEO Checker with Score

Paste any list of URLs (your own pages, a client's site or competitors' pages). Each page gets a **0–100 SEO score** and a **prioritized list of issues** that you can fix right away.

### What is checked

| Area | Checks |
|---|---|
| Indexing | HTTP status, HTTPS, `noindex` in meta robots or the `X-Robots-Tag` header, canonical link |
| Titles & snippets | `<title>` missing/short/long/duplicate, meta description missing/short/long |
| Content | `<h1>` missing or multiple, heading counts, word count (thin content), images without `alt` |
| Mobile & i18n | viewport meta tag, `<html lang>`, charset, hreflang alternates |
| Social sharing | Open Graph title/description/image, Twitter card |
| Structured data | schema.org JSON-LD types found, invalid JSON-LD blocks |
| Performance | server response time |
| Site files | robots.txt, sitemap.xml, sitemap referenced in robots.txt (checked once per website) |

Each issue is labeled **error**, **warning** or **notice** and comes with a plain-English explanation.

### Output (one item per page)

```json
{
  "finalUrl": "https://www.example.com/",
  "errors": 0,
  "warnings": 3,
  ],
  "title": "…",
```

### Use cases

- **Agencies**: audit a prospect's key pages in seconds and send a findings list with your pitch.
- **SEO teams**: monitor titles, descriptions and `noindex` across hundreds of URLs on a schedule.
- **Content teams**: catch thin pages and missing alt text before publishing.
- **Competitor research**: compare on-page signals across competing pages.

### Pricing

Pay per event: you pay **per page audited successfully**. Pages that fail to load or block automated access cost nothing.

### Good to know

- The audit reads the HTML the server returns. It does not render JavaScript, which matches what most crawlers see on the first pass. Pages built entirely in the browser (client-side apps) may show as thin.
- No proxies are used and bot protection is not bypassed.

### FAQ

**Does it crawl my whole site?**
It audits exactly the URLs you provide. Paste your key pages, or combine it with a sitemap export to audit everything.

**How much does it cost?**
You pay only per result (see the Pricing tab) — no subscription. Apify's free plan includes monthly credit, so you can try it for free.

**Can I run it on a schedule?**
Yes. Click **Schedule** in Apify Console to run it hourly, daily or weekly, and get the results by email, webhook, Google Sheets or Slack.

**Can I use it from my code or an AI agent?**
Yes — call it through the Apify API (JavaScript and Python clients), connect it to Make, Zapier or n8n, or let Claude, ChatGPT and other agents use it via the Apify MCP server.

**Something doesn't work — what now?**
Open an issue on the **Issues** tab. I usually reply within a day and ship fixes fast.
