## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Screenshot & PDF Pro

Capture clean screenshots of any list of web pages, ready to use in reports, archives, SEO audits, design reviews, client decks or AI agents.

- **Full page or viewport.** The tool scrolls through each page first so lazy-loaded images appear.
- **Desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile in one run.** Each URL is captured once per device you pick.
- **Cookie banners and chat bubbles hidden.** About 40 common consent managers and chat widgets (OneTrust, Cookiebot, Usercentrics, Intercom and others) are hidden with CSS. Nothing is clicked or accepted for you.
- **Dark mode.** The tool emulates `prefers-color-scheme: dark`.
- **Single element.** Pass a CSS selector like `#pricing` to capture just that part of the page.
- **PNG or JPEG**, with adjustable JPEG quality.
- **Optional A4 PDF** of each page.
- **Shareable links.** Every image and PDF gets a public URL in the output, so you can download it or embed it directly.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": ["https://example.com", "apify.com/pricing"],
  "devices": ["desktop", "mobile"],
  "fullPage": true,
  "format": "png",
  "hideCookieBanners": true,
  "darkMode": false,
  "savePdf": false
}
```

### Output (one item per URL × device)

```json
{
  "url": "https://apify.com/",
  "device": "mobile",
  "viewport": { "width": 390, "height": 844 },
  "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "title": "Apify: Full-stack web scraping and data extraction platform",
  "screenshotUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/…/records/apify.com-mobile.png",
  "format": "png",
  "bytes": 1834512,
  "pdfUrl": null,
  "capturedAt": "2026-11-01T10:15:42.000Z",
  "error": null
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **screenshot**: charged for each image saved successfully.
- **pdf**: charged for each PDF saved, only when you turn on "Also save a PDF".

Pages that fail to load, return an HTTP error or refuse automated access are reported with an `error` field and are **not charged**.

### Good to know

- Pages are opened in a standard headless Chromium. No proxies are used and bot protection is not bypassed, so sites that block automated visitors are reported, not retried.
- Very long pages are cut at 16,000 px so files stay usable.
- Use JPEG for long pages if file size matters. PNG gives the sharpest text.

### FAQ

**How do I get the image files?**
Every item has a `screenshotUrl` (and `pdfUrl`) you can open, download or embed. All files are also in the run's key-value store.

**How much does it cost?**
You pay only per result (see the Pricing tab) — no subscription. Apify's free plan includes monthly credit, so you can try it for free.

**Can I run it on a schedule?**
Yes. Click **Schedule** in Apify Console to run it hourly, daily or weekly, and get the results by email, webhook, Google Sheets or Slack.

**Can I use it from my code or an AI agent?**
Yes — call it through the Apify API (JavaScript and Python clients), connect it to Make, Zapier or n8n, or let Claude, ChatGPT and other agents use it via the Apify MCP server.

**Something doesn't work — what now?**
Open an issue on the **Issues** tab. I usually reply within a day and ship fixes fast.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Pages to capture, one per line. "example.com" works too.

## `devices` (type: `array`):

Each URL is captured once per selected device.

## `fullPage` (type: `boolean`):

Capture the whole scrollable page instead of just the visible viewport.

## `format` (type: `string`):

PNG gives the sharpest text; JPEG gives much smaller files for long pages.

## `jpegQuality` (type: `integer`):

Only used for JPEG (1–100).

## `selector` (type: `string`):

CSS selector of a single element to capture, e.g. "#pricing" or "main". Leave empty to capture the page.

## `hideCookieBanners` (type: `boolean`):

Hide common consent pop-ups and chat widgets so they do not cover the page.

Scroll through the page before capturing so lazy-loaded images appear.

## `delaySecs` (type: `integer`):

Wait this long after the page loads, for animations or late content.

## `savePdf` (type: `boolean`):

Save an A4 PDF of each page (desktop device only). Charged as a separate event.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Pages captured in parallel.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Pages that do not finish loading in time are still captured once their content is ready, or reported with an error.
