## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Flights Price & Schedule Scraper

Get the flight options for any route and date as structured data: airlines, departure and arrival times, duration, stops and price. Useful for fare tracking, price comparison, travel research and route analysis.

### Sample output

```json
{
  "origin": "JFK",
  "destination": "LAX",
  "departureDate": "2026-12-15",
  "departureTime": "08:00",
  "arrivalDate": "2026-12-15",
  "arrivalTime": "11:23",
  "airlines": ["Delta"],
  "flightNumbers": ["DL423"],
  "stops": 0,
  "durationMinutes": 383,
  "price": 189,
  "currency": "USD",
  "isTopFlight": true,
  "legs": [ { "departureAirport": "JFK", "arrivalAirport": "LAX", "airline": "Delta", "flightNumber": "DL423", "durationMinutes": 383 } ],
  "searchUrl": "https://www.google.com/travel/flights?q=...",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-11-04T07:14:45+00:00"
}
```

(Illustrative values; real runs return live fares.)

### Input

- **origin / destination**: 3-letter IATA airport codes (required).
- **departureDate**: YYYY-MM-DD, or leave empty and set **daysFromNow**.
- **returnDate**: optional, for round trips.
- **currency**: e.g. USD, EUR.
- **maxStops**: optional filter.
- **maxResults**: default 50, max 200.

### Output fields

origin, destination, departureDate/Time, arrivalDate/Time, airlines, flightNumbers, stops, durationMinutes, price, currency, isTopFlight, per-leg details, searchUrl, scrapedAt.

### Pricing

$0.0001 per result (per dataset item). The platform charges automatically.

### Limits

- Reads only public, logged-out Google Flights pages; no login and no browser.
- One search (route + date) per run, with few requests.
- Google shows fares only up to roughly 330 days ahead.
- Google can change its page format or block requests; in that case the run fails with a clear message instead of returning empty data.
- Prices are those displayed at the time of the run and can change.

# Actor input Schema

## `origin` (type: `string`):

3-letter IATA code of the departure airport, e.g. JFK.

## `destination` (type: `string`):

3-letter IATA code of the arrival airport, e.g. LAX.

## `departureDate` (type: `string`):

Departure date in YYYY-MM-DD format. Must be within about 330 days. If empty, 'Days from now' is used.

## `daysFromNow` (type: `integer`):

Used only when no departure date is given: search this many days ahead.

## `returnDate` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD. Leave empty for a one-way search. For round trips, the price shown is Google's price for the outbound option with the return.

## `currency` (type: `string`):

3-letter currency code for prices, e.g. USD, EUR, GBP.

## `maxStops` (type: `integer`):

Only return options with at most this many stops (0 = nonstop only). Leave empty for all.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of flight options to return, cheapest first.
