## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Bandsintown Events Scraper — Concerts, Tours & Live Music

<p align="center"><img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/muhamed-didovic/muhamed-didovic.github.io/main/assets/bandsintown-events-logo.png" width="140" alt="Bandsintown Events Scraper"></p>

Scrape live music concerts and events from **bandsintown.com** — artist, venue, full address, coordinates, date, genre, and artist bio for every event. Works with any Bandsintown listing URL or direct event URL. One row per event, clean JSON out.

***

### Why use this scraper

- **Every event, full detail.** Artist name, genre, bio and hometown; venue name, street address, city, region, postal code, country and lat/lng coordinates; start and end dates.
- **Listing or direct URLs.** Paste a genre/date listing (`/all-dates/genre/rock`) or individual event URLs (`/e/{id}-{slug}`) — both are auto-classified.
- **No login, no API key.** Bandsintown's public REST API is locked behind auth; this scraper reads the same data the website renders, no credentials needed.
- **Structured output.** Clean schema.org `MusicEvent` JSON-LD parsed into flat rows — ready for spreadsheets, databases, or LLM pipelines.
- **Fast.** impit with real browser TLS fingerprints bypasses Cloudflare; events are fetched in parallel.

***

### Overview

Bandsintown is a live-music discovery platform with millions of concerts worldwide. This actor scrapes event pages and returns structured data: who's playing, where, when, and what genre. Use it for music-industry lead generation, venue research, tour tracking, or feeding a concert database.

Each output row is a single event with the artist (name, genre, bio, hometown, profile URL), the venue (name, full postal address, geo coordinates), and the timing (start/end dates).

***

### Supported inputs

- **Listing URLs** — any Bandsintown browse page:
  - `https://www.bandsintown.com/all-dates/genre/rock`
  - `https://www.bandsintown.com/today/genre/all-genres`
  - `https://www.bandsintown.com/this-week/genre/all-genres`
  - `https://www.bandsintown.com/this-month/genre/all-genres`
- **Event URLs** — direct links to a single concert:
- **Artist URLs** — `https://www.bandsintown.com/a/{id}-{slug}` (treated as listing pages)

Leave `startUrls` empty to use the default all-dates listing.

***

### Use cases

- **Concert database** — build a directory of live music events by city, genre, or date.
- **Venue research** — collect venue names, addresses, and coordinates for a region.
- **Tour tracking** — monitor an artist's upcoming shows by scraping their event pages.
- **Music-industry leads** — event organizers, promoters, and venues for outreach.
- **Genre analysis** — what's being played where, and when.
- **Travel planning** — find live music in a city you're visiting.

***

### How it works

<p align="center"><img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/muhamed-didovic/muhamed-didovic.github.io/main/assets/how-it-works-bandsintown-events.png" width="900" alt="How it works"></p>

1. You provide a listing URL (or direct event URLs).
2. The actor fetches the listing page with impit (real Chrome TLS fingerprint) to bypass Cloudflare.
3. It extracts event links from the page's server-rendered preload data.
4. It fetches each event detail page in parallel and parses the schema.org `MusicEvent` JSON-LD.
5. Each event becomes one clean row in the dataset.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Bandsintown account or API key?**
No. The scraper reads the public website data. Bandsintown's REST API requires auth, but the website renders the same data without it.

**Why does the default listing return only ~12 events?**
The default all-dates page shows a curated set. For more events, use a location-specific or genre-specific listing URL, or pass direct event URLs.

**Does it handle pagination?**
Yes — when a listing page signals more pages (`urlForNextPageOfEvents`), the actor follows them automatically.

**Can I scrape a specific artist's tour?**
Yes — pass the artist's event URLs directly, or use their artist page URL as a start URL.

**Is this safe to run from an AI agent?**
Yes. It runs under limited permissions and is callable over the Apify MCP server.
