## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Home Depot Scraper — Products, Prices, Store Stock & Specs

Scrape **Home Depot** search results, category pages and product pages into clean rows: price, sale price and discount, rating and review count, **store stock quantity**, pickup and delivery options with dates, badges ("Best Seller", "Top Rated"), images, model number and store SKU. Turn on `includeDetails` for full **specifications, descriptions, bullet points and key features**.

Type a search the way you would on homedepot.com, or paste search, category, brand and product URLs. No login, no API key.

### Why use this actor

- **Store stock, not just price.** Every row carries the store's stock quantity, whether pickup today is possible, ship-to-home, free shipping and the delivery dates Home Depot shows.
- **Filters and sort that match the site.** Price range, and the site's own orders: best match, top sellers, price low to high, price high to low, top rated.
- **Organic results by default.** Sponsored listings are skipped unless you set `includeSponsored`.
- **Paste any Home Depot URL.** A search or category URL keeps its own filters and sort order; a product URL returns that product with its full details.
- **Gets through Home Depot's bot wall.** homedepot.com sits behind Akamai Bot Manager. Pages are fetched through US residential sessions that hold Akamai's cookies, with a second unblocking service for any page those miss.

### Use cases

- Price monitoring and MAP checks for tools, appliances, building materials and home goods
- Assortment and brand-share research per category
- Store stock checks before a pickup run
- Product data (specs, descriptions, images) for catalogs and comparison sites

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| `searchQuery` | string | — | A search as typed on homedepot.com. Several searches: one per line. |
| `startUrls` | array | — | Search (`/s/...`), category or brand (`/b/...`) and product (`/p/...`) URLs. |
| `productIds` | array | — | 9-digit Home Depot item IDs. |
| `sortBy` | string | `relevance` | `relevance`, `top_sellers`, `price_low_to_high`, `price_high_to_low`, `top_rated`, `newest` (the site has no newest order; its default is used). |
| `priceMin` / `priceMax` | integer | — | Price range in dollars. |
| `maxItems` | integer | `50` | Products in total. |
| `maxItemsPerQuery` | integer | `0` | Cap per search or URL; 0 = only the total applies. |
| `includeSponsored` | boolean | `false` | Keep sponsored listings. |
| `includeDetails` | boolean | `false` | Open each product page for specifications, description, bullets and key features. |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "searchQuery": "cordless drill",
  "sortBy": "top_rated",
  "priceMin": 100,
  "priceMax": 200,
  "maxItems": 50
}
```

### Output

One row per product. A real row from a `dewalt drill` search sorted by top rated:

```json
{
  "itemId": "320326787",
  "url": "https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-FUEL-18V-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Hammer-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-with-2-Batteries-3697-22/320326787",
  "title": "M18 FUEL 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit (2-Tool) with 2 Batteries",
  "brand": "Milwaukee",
  "modelNumber": "3697-22",
  "storeSku": "1007850144",
  "price": 399,
  "originalPrice": 399,
  "currency": "USD",
  "onSale": false,
  "discountPercent": null,
  "rating": 4.77,
  "reviewCount": 4106,
  "storeId": "121",
  "storeName": "Cumberland",
  "storeStockQuantity": 71,
  "inStockAtStore": true,
  "pickupInStore": true,
  "onlineStockQuantity": 9582,
  "shipToHome": true,
  "freeShipping": true,
  "deliveryStartDate": "2026-10-21",
  "expressDelivery": true,
  "storePhone": "(770)432-9930",
  "department": "Power Tool Combo Kits",
  "badges": ["Top Rated", "Exclusive"],
  "mainImage": "https://images.thdstatic.com/productImages/c83a98b4-2b2a-4537-9a1b-16f4adc8fff6/svn/milwaukee-power-tool-combo-kits-3697-22-64_1000.jpg",
  "variantCount": 36,
  "isSponsored": false,
  "returnPolicy": "90-Day",
  "detailsIncluded": false,
  "source": { "type": "search", "input": "dewalt drill", "position": 1 },
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-20T20:30:00.000Z"
}
```

With `includeDetails` (and always for product URLs and item IDs) a row also fills `specifications` (group, name, value), `description`, `bulletPoints`, `keyFeatures`, `categoryPath` and `seoDescription`. The run's key-value store holds `RUN_SUMMARY`: products per input, how many Home Depot had in total, and anything that could not be loaded.

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **$0.002 per product** returned
- **$0.002 per product page read** for `includeDetails` on search and category results (product URLs and item IDs are covered by the product price)
- $0.005 per run start

### FAQ

**Which store are prices and stock for?** The store Home Depot assigns to the request. Search and category rows name it in `storeId`, `storeName` and `storePhone`. Online prices are the same across stores for most products; store stock is that store's.

**Why does a search return fewer products than Home Depot shows?** Home Depot serves a single search or category up to about 744 results. Split a large search with `priceMin` / `priceMax` ranges to reach the rest.

**My search went to a category page. Is that expected?** Yes. Home Depot sends many searches ("cordless drill") to a category, and the run follows it, keeping your price range and sort order.

**Can I get reviews?** Not from this actor. See the Home Depot reviews scraper in the memo23 store.
