## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## ShowMojo Scraper — US Rentals + Contacts from Any PM Site

**Turn any ShowMojo listings URL into structured vacancies — including office contact fields when publicly available.** Paste a tenant URL and get one row per unit: rent, beds, baths, address, lat/lng (when available), photos, apply/showing URL, and contact phone/email.

### Why Use This Scraper?

- **URL-in, live scrape.** Point it at a manager's own ShowMojo site. Not a weekly national dump.
- **Contacts when public.** Office **name + phone** from the listing detail page Contact block.
- **No login, no browser.** Cheerio / HTTP only. Proxy optional.

### Overview

One dataset row per vacancy on the URL you pasted. Typical use: lead-gen or inventory jobs that already have property-manager websites.

### Supported Inputs

| Input | Example |
|---|---|
| Listings / rentals URL | `https://showmojo.com/275ebea04c/l` |
| Detail / property URL | (supported when the platform exposes one) |
| `startUrl` | Same as one `startUrls` item |

**Seed list:** this repo ships `seeds/start-urls.json` — **286** live-checked URLs. Paste a subset into `startUrls` for multi-PM coverage.

### Use Cases

| Audience | What they get |
|---|---|
| **Rental lead-gen** | Office phone / email + apply or showing URL |
| **PropTech / aggregators** | Live inventory from PM sites that never hit Zillow |
| **Market researchers** | Asking rents, beds, availability on a named manager |

### How It Works

Parses the account gallery for `/l/{id}/{slug}` detail links, then each detail HTML page.

1. Paste one or more tenant listing URLs.
2. The actor reads vacancies (HTML and/or public JSON APIs).
3. With `scrapeDetails` on (default), it enriches each row with contact fields and extra photos.
4. It stops at `maxItems`. One row per vacancy.

### Input Configuration

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `startUrls` | string list | sample URL | Listing or detail URLs |
| `startUrl` | string | empty | Single-URL convenience field |
| `maxItems` | integer | 100 | Cap on saved listings (free accounts hard-capped at 100) |
| `scrapeDetails` | boolean | true | Fetch detail/contact enrichment |
| `proxy` | proxy object | off | Optional |

**Example**

```json
{
  "startUrls": ["https://showmojo.com/275ebea04c/l"],
  "maxItems": 25
}
```

### Output Overview

Each row is one vacancy. Index fields (rent, beds, address, photo) are present when the source exposes them. Phone/email require `scrapeDetails: true` and public availability.

### Output Samples

See a recent dataset export in the Apify Console after a smoke run. Typical fields: `platform`, `id`, `url`, `title`, `address`, `city`, `state`, `zip`, `latitude`, `longitude`, `rent`, `beds`, `baths`, `images`, `applyUrl` / `showingUrl`, `officeName`, `phone`, `email`, `scrapedAt`.

### Key Output Fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `rent` / `beds` / `baths` | Asking rent and unit size |
| `address` / `lat`/`lng` | Location |
| `phone` / `email` | Public office contacts |
| `applyUrl` / `showingUrl` | Outbound action links |

### FAQ

**Do I need a login?** No. Only public listing pages / APIs.
**Proxy?** Usually not. Turn Apify Proxy on if you see blocks.
**Is this a national dump?** No — URL-in only.
