## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Singapore Yellow Pages Scraper

Scrape [Yellow Pages Singapore](https://listing.yellowpages.com.sg/) into one row per **business**: name, phone, address, postcode, UEN, category.

Works from a keyword, or a pasted search or profile URL. The site answers a normal request with a Radware captcha, so the default proxy is Apify Unblocker.

**Pricing:** $0.015 per listing. That is under the other Singapore Yellow Pages actor, which charges $0.02 per result on the free plan and $0.017 from Gold.

### Why use this scraper?

- Search cards already carry the phone, street, postcode, and UEN. A restaurant search is 10 cards a page, and page 2 does not repeat page 1.
- A keyword is the `s` parameter: `https://listing.yellowpages.com.sg/?s=restaurant`.
- The directory hotline and the site WhatsApp button are dropped.
- $15 per 1,000 listings, against $20 at the current leader.

### Overview

Built for lead lists on Singapore companies. The searchable directory is `listing.yellowpages.com.sg`. A keyword such as `restaurant` runs to 119 pages.

### Supported inputs

| Input | What it does |
|---|---|
| `startUrls` | Search URL or `/listing/{slug}/` |
| `searchTerms` | Keyword, e.g. `restaurant` or `plumber` |
| `locations` | Optional extra words added to the keyword |
| `maxItems` | Stop after N unique listings (free plan cap 50) |
| `maxPages` | 10 cards per page |
| `proxy` | Unblocker by default |

### Use cases

| Who | Why |
|---|---|
| Sales / agencies | Singapore phones from a keyword |
| Researchers | Address, postcode, and UEN |
| Ops | One row per company, JSON or CSV |

### How it works

1. Open `https://listing.yellowpages.com.sg/?s={keyword}` through Unblocker.
2. Parse `div.listing` cards (`p.phone`, `p.address`, UEN).
3. Follow `/page/N/?s=` for the next 10 cards.
4. `pushData` bills the $0.015 result event.

### Input configuration

| Field | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| `startUrls` | url\[] | one of terms/URLs | search or profile |
| `searchTerms` | string\[] | one of terms/URLs | e.g. `restaurant` |
| `locations` | string\[] | no | extra words, e.g. `orchard` |
| `maxItems` | integer | no | default 50 |
| `maxPages` | integer | no | default 20 |
| `scrapeDetails` | boolean | no | default false |
| `proxy` | proxy | no | Unblocker |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["restaurant"],
  "maxItems": 10,
  "proxy": { "useApifyProxy": true, "apifyProxyGroups": ["UNBLOCKER"] }
}
```

### Output overview

One JSON object per business. Phone, address, postcode, and UEN come from the search card.

### Output samples

```json
{
  "listingId": "city-elite-pte-ltd",
  "name": "City Elite Pte Ltd",
  "phone": "+6568366866",
  "street": "390 Havelock Rd #01-01 King's Centre",
  "postalCode": "169662",
  "city": "Singapore",
  "country": "SG",
  "uen": "200004389G",
  "category": "Restaurants Chinese",
  "profileUrl": "https://listing.yellowpages.com.sg/listing/city-elite-pte-ltd/",
  "source": "yellowpages-sg"
}
```

### FAQ

**Is there a page 2?** Yes. `/page/2/?s=restaurant` is 10 new cards. A restaurant keyword has 119 pages.

**Where is the email?** The SME cards do not publish an inbox or a website. The phone, address, and UEN are on the card.

**Do I need a proxy?** Yes. Leave Unblocker on. A direct request gets a Radware captcha.

**Why is this cheaper than the other Singapore actor?** That actor is $0.02 per result on the free plan. This one is $0.015.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Paste a search or profile link. Examples: <code>https://listing.yellowpages.com.sg/?s=restaurant</code> or <code>https://listing.yellowpages.com.sg/listing/city-elite-pte-ltd/</code>. Page 2 is <code>/page/2/?s=restaurant</code> (10 cards, and it does not repeat page 1).

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

What you would type into Yellow Pages Singapore, e.g. <b>restaurant</b>, <b>plumber</b>, <b>aircon</b>. One row per keyword.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Optional words added to the keyword, e.g. <b>orchard</b>. The directory is already Singapore-only. Empty = the keyword alone.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many unique businesses across the whole run. Free plan is capped at 50. Each page has 10 cards.

## `scrapeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Search cards already carry phone, address, and UEN. Turn this on to open the profile as well.

## `harvestWebsiteEmail` (type: `boolean`):

These listings rarely publish a website. When a profile has one and this is on, the actor fetches that homepage for an inbox.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Follows <code>/page/N/</code>. 10 cards per page.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many profiles to load at the same time.

## `proxy` (type: `object`):

Unblocker is required. yellowpages.com.sg answers with a Radware captcha on a normal request.
