## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Contact & Tech Stack Finder

Paste a list of websites, get a lead list back. For every site the Actor reads the homepage and its contact, about and legal pages, then returns:

- **Emails**, with addresses on the site's own domain first. Cloudflare-protected and "name \[at] site \[dot] com" addresses are decoded.
- **Phone numbers** and **WhatsApp numbers**.
- **Social profiles**: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Telegram.
- **Company name and postal address** when the site publishes them as structured data.
- **Technologies**: CMS (WordPress, Wix, Webflow…), e-commerce platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop…), analytics, ad pixels (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok), email and CRM tools (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot…), chat, booking and payment tools. About 120 technologies are recognised.

No browser is used: a run of 150 small-business websites takes about two minutes.

### What people use it for

- **Add emails to a Google Maps export.** Take the `website` column of any Maps scraper and get emails and social profiles for each business.
- **Technographic lead lists.** "All the Shopify stores in this list that have no Klaviyo", "WordPress sites with no Meta Pixel": filter on the technology columns.
- **Qualify before outreach.** A site with no analytics, no pixel and no booking tool is a different pitch from one that has them all.
- **Clean a CRM.** Fill the missing phone, email and social columns from the company website.

### Input

```json
{
    "urls": ["apify.com", "allbirds.com", "https://wordpress.org"],
    "maxPagesPerSite": 3,
    "detectTechnologies": true
}
```

Domains and full URLs both work. Each distinct domain is read once.

### Output

One row per website (real output, two fields left out for length):

```json
{
    "inputUrl": "allbirds.com",
    "domain": "allbirds.com",
    ],
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-07T16:59:58.120Z"
}
```

The `status` column says what happened: `ok`, `blocked: …` when the site refuses automated visits, or `error: …` when it is down or does not exist. `RUN_SUMMARY` in the key-value store gives the totals.

### What you pay for

**$1.50 per 1,000 websites** read successfully ($0.0015 each), all pages and technology detection included. No start fee. Websites that are unreachable or that block the visit are saved with their status and **not charged**.

### Limits, stated plainly

- Technologies are detected from the page source and the response headers. Tools loaded only after a click or through a tag manager can be missed.
- Sites behind an anti-bot wall (HTTP 403) are reported as blocked, not bypassed.
- Emails are not verified by sending anything: they are the addresses the site publishes.

### Personal data

The Actor collects contact details that businesses publish on their own websites. Some of them belong to named people. If you use them for outreach, you are responsible for following the law that applies to you (GDPR, CAN-SPAM and similar).

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

One website per line: a domain (<b>example.com</b>) or a full URL. Each distinct domain is read once.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Besides the homepage, how many contact, about and legal pages to read. More pages find more emails; 0 reads the homepage only.

## `detectTechnologies` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the CMS, e-commerce platform, analytics, ad pixels, email tools, chat, booking and payment tools found on the site.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Lower it only if you read many pages of the same host.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Datacenter proxies are enough for most business websites. Sites that answer 403 are reported as blocked and are not charged.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "apify.com",
    "allbirds.com",
    "wordpress.org"
  ],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 3,
  "detectTechnologies": true,
  "maxConcurrency": 20,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `websites` (type: `string`):

Contacts, social profiles and technologies of every website.

## `runSummary` (type: `string`):

How many websites were read, blocked or unreachable, and how many gave an email, a phone or a social profile.
