## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Polymarket Trader Profiler: PnL, Win Rate & Smart-Money Score

**Turn any Polymarket wallet, username or leaderboard into one clean row per trader: realized and unrealized PnL, win rate, ROI, edge vs. implied odds, drawdown, category strengths, open positions and a transparent smart-money score.**

Paste a few usernames or wallet addresses, or just ask for the top 25 of this month's crypto leaderboard, and get structured data you can sort, filter and export. Everything comes from Polymarket's official public API. No login, no browser, no scraping.

**$0.01 per profiled trader. Invalid input, unknown usernames and API errors are free.**

### Who it is for

- **Copy-trading and signal research:** find traders whose results hold up over a real sample, not one lucky bet.
- **Whale and smart-money tracking:** watch what the best performers in politics, sports or crypto are holding right now.
- **Due diligence:** check a caller's or fund's actual Polymarket track record before trusting their picks.
- **Dashboards, bots and AI agents:** call it from the Apify API, Make, n8n, Zapier or any MCP client and get JSON back.

### How to use it

1. Add traders in **Traders**: a username (`Theo4`, `@Theo4`), a wallet address (`0x…`) or a profile URL (`polymarket.com/profile/0x…` or `polymarket.com/@name`).
2. Or set **Also profile the leaderboard's top N** and pick a period, category and sort order. You can combine both; duplicates are removed.
3. Optionally tune the depth and the smart-money thresholds.
4. Click **Start**. Results land in the **Overview** and **Detail** dataset views. Export as JSON, CSV or Excel.

A typical trader takes around one second.

### Methodology

**Resolved positions.** A position counts as resolved once its market has settled or the trader has fully exited. Settled-but-unclaimed positions are included, losing ones too, so the win rate isn't flattered by losers the trader never bothered to redeem. A win is a position with total PnL above zero.

**ROI** is total PnL divided by total cost (entry price × shares) over the resolved sample.

**Edge vs. implied odds** is win rate minus the average entry price. Buying at 0.40 means the market gave that outcome about a 40% chance. A trader who buys at 0.40 on average and wins 55% of the time has beaten the market's own odds by 0.15. Close to zero means the trader is winning about as often as the prices implied.

**Price bands** split results by entry price (0–0.2, 0.2–0.5, 0.5–0.8, 0.8–1), so you can see whether someone makes money on longshots or on favorites.

**History** uses the daily cumulative PnL series. Max drawdown is the largest fall from a running peak.

**Smart-money score (0–100)** is a weighted sum. Each component and its inputs are in `scoreComponents`:

| Component | Weight | Formula |
|---|---|---|
| Profitability | 0.30 | `roi / (roi + 0.1)` (0 if ROI ≤ 0) |
| Edge | 0.25 | `edge / (edge + 0.05)` (0 if edge ≤ 0) |
| Win rate | 0.15 | `(wins + 1) / (wins + losses + 2)` |
| Consistency | 0.15 | `1 − largest win / gross wins` |
| Sample size | 0.15 | `min(resolved positions / 50, 1)` |

**`smartMoney`** is true only if the resolved sample, ROI and all-time realized PnL all meet your thresholds. Each check is in `smartMoneyCriteria`.

**Flags** call out things a number alone hides:

| Flag | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `small_sample` | Fewer resolved positions than your minimum. |
| `inactive_30d` | No trade in the last 30 days. |
| `longshot_style` / `favorite_style` | Average entry price below 0.30 / above 0.75. |
| `concentrated_pnl` | One win is more than half of all winnings. |
| `rebate_heavy` | Rebates and rewards are a large part of profit (often a market maker). |
| `high_frequency` | More than 500 trades per day on average (likely a bot). |
| `in_drawdown` | Current PnL is below 80% of its peak. |

Leaderboard `all` figures are realized lifetime PnL; `month` and `week` reflect the change in marked equity over the window, as Polymarket reports them.

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **$0.01 per profiled trader** (`trader-profiled`). A trader with no Polymarket activity still counts as profiled, because the lookup was done.
- **Free:** invalid input, usernames that can't be found and traders that fail because of an API error. They appear as error items with an `errorCode` so you can see what happened.
- A tiny start fee of $0.00005 per run.

100 traders cost about $1. If you set a maximum cost per run, the actor stops before going over it and lists the traders it skipped in the run summary.

### Run summary

The `RUN_SUMMARY` record in the default key-value store contains: traders in input, traders from the leaderboard, duplicates removed, profiled, charged, API errors, invalid inputs, unresolved usernames, whether the charge limit stopped the run, and request statistics.

### Data source and limits

- Data comes from Polymarket's public Data API (v2) and profile API. No account or API key is needed.
- Figures are as reported by Polymarket at run time and may differ slightly from the website while markets settle.
- Win rate, ROI and edge use the most recent `maxResolvedPositions` resolved positions, not necessarily the full history of very active traders.
- Usernames are matched exactly. If a name can't be resolved, pass the wallet address or profile URL instead.

### Disclaimer

This actor is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Polymarket. It only reads publicly available data. Nothing it outputs is financial, investment or betting advice. Past performance on prediction markets does not predict future results. Check the rules that apply to prediction markets where you live before trading.
