# StepStone Jobs Scraper - Salaries & New-Job Alerts (`mftira/stepstone-jobs-scraper`) Actor

Scrape StepStone job ads from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands with structured salary ranges (min/max/currency), benefits, company data and optional full descriptions. Monitoring mode returns only jobs you haven't seen before, so scheduled runs never charge twice for the same ad.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## StepStone Jobs Scraper: salaries, full descriptions and new-job alerts

Get job ads from **StepStone Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands** as clean, structured data: title, company, location, **salary range (min/max/currency/period)**, benefits, posting and expiry dates, and optionally the full job description.

Turn on **monitoring mode** and schedule it daily: each run returns **only jobs you haven't received before**, so you get a fresh-ads feed and never pay twice for the same job.

### What you can use it for

- **Recruiting and lead generation.** Find companies hiring for the roles you place, with company pages and logos.
- **Job alerts and job boards.** Feed new StepStone ads into your own site, Slack or CRM every morning.
- **Salary research.** Compare pay ranges by role and city. Salaries are numbers, not text, so they go straight into a spreadsheet.
- **Labour-market analysis.** Track hiring demand by role, region and industry over time.

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **job titles or keywords** (e.g. `software engineer`, `Pflegefachkraft`).
2. Pick the **country**, and optionally a **location**, **radius** and **posted within** filter.
3. Set **Maximum jobs** and click **Start**.

Prefer the StepStone website's filters? Paste the URL of any StepStone search-results page into **StepStone search URLs**.

#### Daily new-job feed

1. Turn on **Only new jobs (monitoring mode)** and give the feed a **monitoring key** (e.g. `berlin-devs`).
2. Create a **schedule** for the Actor (e.g. every day at 07:00).
3. Every run then saves only ads that appeared since the previous run. Add an integration (email, Slack, webhook, Google Sheets) to receive them automatically.

### Output example

```json
{
  "id": "14564749",
  "title": "Senior Consultant Change Management Schwerpunkt Datenanalyse (m/w/d)",
  "companyName": "mgm consulting partners GmbH",
  "companyUrl": "https://www.stepstone.de/cmp/de/mgm-consulting-partners-gmbh-44339/jobs",
  "location": "Berlin, Hamburg, Köln, München-Nord",
  "url": "https://www.stepstone.de/stellenangebote--Senior-Consultant-Change-Management-...--14564749-inline.html",
  "datePosted": "2026-10-16T10:04:38.563Z",
  "expiresAt": "2026-11-30T11:01:08.557Z",
  "salaryMin": 63000,
  "salaryMax": 76500,
  "salaryCurrency": "EUR",
  "salaryPeriod": "Annually",
  "salaryIsEstimate": true,
  "benefits": ["Smartphone sowie eine Firmenkreditkarte", "30 Tage Urlaub sowie Sabbaticaloption", "..."],
  "snippet": "mgm berät seit über 20 Jahren internationale Kunden ...",
  "country": "de",
  "searchQuery": "data analyst",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-25T15:03:57.931Z"
}
```

With **Include full job descriptions** on, each job also gets `description`, `descriptionHtml`, `employmentType`, `industry`, `directApply`, `validThrough` and the address fields (`streetAddress`, `addressLocality`, `postalCode`, `addressCountry`).

#### About salaries

StepStone shows a salary range for most German ads. `salaryIsEstimate: true` means the range is **StepStone's own estimate** for that job, and `false` means the employer published it. In our tests about 85% of German ads had a salary range. Belgian and Dutch ads usually have none.

### Pricing

You pay per job saved, plus a small extra per job when full descriptions are enabled. There's no subscription. You can set a **maximum cost per run** in the run options and the Actor stops cleanly when it's reached.

### Tips

- **Germany is the big one.** Searches like `developer` return thousands of ads. StepStone NL is much smaller.
- **Region-restricted ads.** A few employers (about 10% of ads) hide their ad from visitors outside their country. Those jobs are still saved with all list data and marked `regionRestricted: true`. To get their full description too, set the proxy to a German residential proxy (Apify Proxy group `RESIDENTIAL`, country `DE`).
- Each search returns at most what StepStone itself shows (25 per page). Split very broad searches by city or keyword to go deeper.

### FAQ

**Is scraping StepStone legal?** This Actor only collects publicly visible job ads and no personal data about candidates. You're responsible for how you use the data, including GDPR and StepStone's terms. Ask a lawyer if you're unsure.

**Something broke or a field is missing?** Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab. We monitor the Actor daily and fix layout changes quickly.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

One search per entry, e.g. "software engineer", "Pflegefachkraft", "Vertrieb". Leave empty if you only use StepStone search URLs below.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Which StepStone site to search. Germany is by far the largest.

## `location` (type: `string`):

City or region, e.g. "Berlin" or "München". Leave empty for the whole country.

## `radius` (type: `integer`):

Search radius around the location. Ignored when no location is set.

## `postedWithin` (type: `string`):

Only jobs published recently.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Paste any StepStone search-results URL, with all the filters you set on the website. Works for stepstone.de, .be and .nl.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs in total (across all searches).

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Opens each job ad for the full description text and HTML, employment type, industry and address. Slower, and charged as an extra event per job.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Skip jobs returned by earlier runs with the same monitoring key. Schedule this Actor daily to get a feed of fresh ads only — you're never charged twice for the same job.

## `monitoringKey` (type: `string`):

Name for the list of already-seen jobs. Use a different key for each independent feed (e.g. "berlin-devs", "munich-sales").

## `maxPagesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Safety cap on result pages per search (25 jobs per page).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. The default Apify Proxy works. A few employers hide their ad from visitors outside their country; those jobs are still saved (regionRestricted = true). For their full description, use a German residential proxy (group RESIDENTIAL, country DE).
