## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Telegram Channel Scraper: posts, views, reactions & media (no login)

Scrape **any public Telegram channel** without a Telegram account, phone number or API keys. Get every post with its **text, date, views, emoji reactions, photos, video thumbnails, files, links, hashtags, replies and forwards**, plus the channel profile: **exact subscriber count**, title, description, photo and verified badge. Filter by **date range** or **keyword**, and scrape thousands of posts per channel.

**Price: $0.80 per 1,000 posts** + $0.002 per channel profile + $0.005 per run, platform usage included. Invalid, private or empty channels are free.

### What you can do with it

- **Media & news monitoring**: follow news, politics and brand channels, and track what gets the most views and reactions.
- **Crypto & trading research**: collect announcements, listings and signals from crypto channels, and search them by keyword (e.g. `airdrop`, `listing`).
- **Influencer & channel analytics**: compare subscribers, posting frequency, views per post and engagement across channels.
- **Archiving & datasets**: export a channel's full public history with media links for research, NLP or AI training.
- **Scheduled tracking**: run daily with *Posts since* = `1 day` and get only the new posts.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **Channels** | Usernames or links: `durov`, `@durov`, `https://t.me/durov`, `t.me/s/durov` or a post link like `t.me/durov/123`. |
| **Max posts per channel** | Posts come newest first. Default 100. Set `0` to get only the channel profile. |
| **Posts since / until** | Optional date range. Absolute (`2026-10-01`) or relative (`7 days`). Older posts are reached quickly by jumping straight to the right place in the channel. |
| **Search in channel** | Optional keyword. Returns only posts matching it (Telegram's own in-channel search). |
| **Include channel profile** | On by default. Adds one row per channel with exact subscribers, title, description, photo and verified badge. |
| **Include service messages** | Off by default. "Channel created", "photo updated" and similar. |
| **Proxy** | Optional. Not needed in our tests. |

Example input:

```json
{
    "channels": ["durov", "https://t.me/telegram", "@binance_announcements"],
    "maxPostsPerChannel": 200,
    "since": "2026-10-01",
    "searchQuery": "",
    "includeChannelInfo": true
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per post (`type: "post"`). Example (shortened):

```json
{
    "type": "post",
    "channel": "xataka",
    "postId": 54284,
    "url": "https://t.me/xataka/54284",
    "date": "2026-10-23T18:42:07.000Z",
    "text": "🆕 \"Van a empeorar mucho más\": Jason Clinton, subdirector de ciberseguridad de Anthropic, advierte...",
    "views": 904,
    "viewsText": "904",
    "reactions": [{ "emoji": "👎", "customEmojiId": null, "paid": false, "count": 5, "countText": "5" }],
    "reactionsTotal": 5,
    "author": null,
    "forwardedFrom": null,
    "replyTo": null,
    "mediaTypes": ["photo"],
    "media": [{ "type": "photo", "url": "https://cdn4.telesco.pe/file/...jpg", "postUrl": "https://t.me/xataka/54284", "viewInTelegramOnly": false }],
    "photoUrls": ["https://cdn4.telesco.pe/file/...jpg"],
    "videoThumbnailUrls": [],
    "videoUrls": [],
    "documents": [],
    "linkPreview": null,
    "links": ["https://www.xataka.com/seguridad/van-a-empeorar-mucho-jason-clinton-..."],
    "hashtags": [],
    "mentions": ["@xataka"],
    "isEdited": false,
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-23T20:48:15.311Z"
}
```

| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| `postId`, `url`, `date` | Post number, link and publication time (UTC). |
| `text` | Full post text with line breaks and emoji. |
| `views`, `reactions`, `reactionsTotal` | Views and reactions per emoji. Custom emoji have `customEmojiId` instead of `emoji`; Telegram Stars reactions have `paid: true`. |
| `forwardedFrom`, `replyTo` | Original channel/author of forwarded posts and the post being replied to (id, link, author, text snippet). |
| `media`, `mediaTypes` | Every attachment: photo, video, GIF, audio, document, poll and more, with URL, thumbnail and duration. |
| `photoUrls`, `videoThumbnailUrls`, `videoUrls`, `documents` | Shortcuts for the most common media. |
| `linkPreview`, `poll` | Link preview card (site, title, description, image) and poll question/options. |
| `links`, `hashtags`, `mentions` | Extracted from the text. |
| `author`, `isEdited` | Post signature (if the channel signs posts) and edited flag. |

**Channel rows** (`type: "channel"`): `title`, `username`, `subscribers` (exact, e.g. 10271522), `description`, `photoUrl`, `verified`, `photosCount`, `videosCount`, `filesCount`, `linksCount`, `latestPostId`, `latestPostDate`.

**Error rows** (`type: "error"`, **free**): `status` = `not_found`, `not_a_channel` (groups, users and bots), `no_public_preview` (private or restricted channels), `invalid_input`, `no_posts` or `error`, plus a `message`. A run summary is saved to the key-value store as `RUN_SUMMARY`.

The dataset has ready-made views: **Posts**, **Engagement**, **Media & links**, **Forwards & replies**, **Channels**, **Errors & skipped inputs**.

### Good to know

- **Rounded numbers.** Telegram shows views and reactions above 1,000 rounded (`1.38M`, `6.4K`); `views` is the number Telegram shows (the exact text is in `viewsText`). The **subscriber count is exact**.
- **Public channels only.** Groups, private channels, users and bots can't be scraped without logging in, so they return a free error row.
- **Large videos and files** are not downloadable from the public web view: you get the thumbnail, duration and post link (`viewInTelegramOnly: true`).
- **Hidden forwards.** Many forwarded posts hide their source; `forwardedFrom` is then empty.
- **Renamed channels.** Some usernames point to a channel that has a new name (e.g. `toncoin` shows posts of `@gram`); posts keep the channel name Telegram uses in their links.
- **Speed.** About 10–75 posts per second depending on the channel; 1,200 posts from one channel took about 2 minutes. Several channels are scraped in parallel.
- Each post is returned once per run. No login, cookies or proxy needed.

### Pricing

**$0.80 per 1,000 posts** ($0.0008 per post), **$0.002 per channel profile** and **$0.005 per run start**. Platform usage is included. Example: 500 posts from 5 channels with profiles costs $0.415. Error rows are free. Set *Max posts per channel* or the run's maximum cost to cap spend.

# Actor input Schema

## `channels` (type: `array`):

Public Telegram channels: usernames (durov or @durov) or links (https://t.me/durov, https://t.me/s/durov, or a post link like https://t.me/durov/123). Private invite links (t.me/+...) and groups cannot be scraped.

## `maxPostsPerChannel` (type: `integer`):

Posts come newest first. Set 0 to get only the channel profile.

## `since` (type: `string`):

Only posts published on or after this date. Absolute (YYYY-MM-DD or ISO timestamp) or relative, e.g. "7 days" for the last week. Leave empty for no limit.

## `until` (type: `string`):

Only posts published on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD includes the whole day). Older date ranges are found quickly without paging through newer posts.

## `searchQuery` (type: `string`):

Optional keyword or #hashtag. Returns only posts matching it, using Telegram's own in-channel search (the same as t.me/s/<channel>?q=...).

## `includeChannelInfo` (type: `boolean`):

Adds one row per channel with title, description, exact subscriber count, photo, verified badge and media counters.

## `includeServiceMessages` (type: `boolean`):

Service messages such as "Channel photo updated" or "Channel created". Off by default.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Up to 3 channels are scraped in parallel; this caps the number of requests in flight.

## `maxRequestRetries` (type: `integer`):

Retries with backoff on network errors and rate limits.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed normally: Telegram's public pages work without a proxy. Use one only if you see rate-limit errors.
