## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## Global Job Monitor (RemoteOK, Arbeitnow, Remotive)

![global-job-monitor](https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/yfnvtbimUC1yUnStx/records/global-job-monitor.png?signature=1QD8UYvNdk4I5EspFFpoT)

Watches **public job APIs** and returns **only postings that appeared since your last run**.

No LinkedIn session, no Indeed HTML war, no residential proxy bill. Recruiters and job hunters schedule it hourly and get a webhook when a matching role shows up.

### Sources

| Source | Coverage |
| --- | --- |
| RemoteOK | Remote / tech, public JSON |
| Arbeitnow | EU-heavy board, public JSON |
| Remotive | Remote roles, public JSON |

### Filters

- Keywords (title, company, tags)
- Location substring (`Germany`, `EU`, `Remote`)
- Remote-only switch

### Setup

1. Set keywords (and optional location).
2. First run returns the current matches so you can see the shape.
3. Schedule it. Later runs emit only genuinely new jobs.

Turn **Return everything on the first run** off if the webhook should stay silent until the first real new posting.

### Pricing

Small fee per job scanned, larger fee per new job returned.

### Legal note

Data comes from the boards' public APIs. You are responsible for how you contact employers.

***

### Deutsch

Nur neue Stellen aus öffentlichen APIs (RemoteOK, Arbeitnow, Remotive). Keyword + Ort, Zeitplan, Webhook. Kein LinkedIn-Scraping.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `string`):

Match title, company or tags. Separate with spaces or commas, for example python, django remote.

## `location` (type: `string`):

Substring match on the job location field, for example Germany, EU or Remote.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Public JSON APIs. Leave all selected for the widest net.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs marked as remote.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

How many items to process in one run. Higher is more thorough but slower and more expensive.

## `emitAllOnFirstRun` (type: `boolean`):

On a fresh monitor name, return the current stock so the dataset is not empty. Turn off if you only want later deltas.

## `webhookUrl` (type: `string`):

Optional HTTPS endpoint. Matching results are sent as a JSON POST.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Separate histories when watching several searches in parallel.
