## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## LinkedIn Company Scraper: profiles, recent posts, office locations (no login)

Reads LinkedIn's **public** company pages, the version anyone sees without an account. No LinkedIn account, no cookies, no login.

Price: pay per result, at the rate shown in the pricing panel of this page, plus a very small per-run start fee. You are charged only for the results delivered.

### What you get per company

One row with:

- Name, tagline, full description, website, LinkedIn URL, logo
- Industry, company size band, **employees on LinkedIn** (number), **followers** (number)
- Headquarters, structured address (street, city, region, postal code, country), organization type, founded year (when listed), specialties
- **Every office location** shown on the page (with a flag for the primary one)
- **Similar companies** (name + LinkedIn URL) for lead discovery
- The **recent posts shown on the page** (date, text, likes, link). Turn off with `includePosts: false`.

### Inputs

- `companies`: LinkedIn company URLs or bare slugs (`https://www.linkedin.com/company/stripe`, `https://uk.linkedin.com/company/revolut`, `stripe`). Duplicates are collapsed.
- `expandSimilar`: also scrape each company's "similar pages", breadth first, until `maxCompanies` rows. Each discovered row has `discoveredFrom` set to the company that led to it.
- `maxCompanies`: 1 to 1000 (default 100).
- `includePosts`, `proxyConfiguration` (default: Apify datacenter proxy).

### Output notes

- Public page data only. **No employee lists and no people are collected.** Email addresses and phone numbers that appear in the company's free text (description, tagline, specialties, post text) are replaced with `[email redacted]` / `[phone redacted]`; a company's own office phone inside a location address is kept.
- If LinkedIn answers with a redirect to another company URL, the actor follows it once. Unresolvable redirects are recorded in `FAILURES` as `redirect_unresolved` and do not make the run incomplete.
- Companies that do not exist (HTTP 404), inputs that are not company URLs, and pages LinkedIn refuses to serve are written to the `FAILURES` record in the key-value store and are **not charged**.
- The recent posts are only the handful LinkedIn shows on the public page (about 2 to 10), not a post archive.
- The number of locations varies from none to dozens (in the captured test set: Anthropic 0, Revolut 1, Stripe 14, Microsoft 45). Fields LinkedIn does not show for a company are `null` (or `[]`).

### Run summary and limits

The `RUN_SUMMARY` record has `complete`, `terminationReason` (`finished`, `max_results`, `charge_limit`, `time_budget`, `blocked`, `request_failed`) and `rowsPushed`. A very large run may stop early before the run timeout; the summary then says `time_budget` and what was written is kept.

Requests are sequential with a 2 second pause (about 10 companies a minute at the recommended 512 MB memory; a run of 100 companies takes roughly 10 minutes). **If LinkedIn answers with a block (HTTP 999, 429, 403 or a sign-in wall) the actor records it, does not retry and does not try to get around it.** If more than 20% of requests are blocked (checked every 10 requests) the run stops with a clear message and keeps the rows already written.

### Example row (trimmed)

```json
{
  "name": "Stripe", "slug": "stripe", "linkedinUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/company/stripe",
  "tagline": "Help increase the GDP of the internet.", "website": "https://stripe.com",
  "industry": "Technology, Information and Internet", "companySize": "5,001-10,000 employees",
  "employeesOnLinkedIn": 16694, "followers": 1772717, "headquarters": "South San Francisco, California",
  "foundedYear": 2010, "locations": [{"isPrimary": true, "address": "354 Oyster Point Blvd, South San Francisco, California 94080, US"}],
  "recentPosts": [{"datePublished": "2026-10-15T16:14:02.796Z", "likes": 18}],
  "discoveredFrom": null
}
```

(Counts such as followers change daily; the example is from a captured page.)
