## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Product Hunt Scraper API: Launches & Leaderboard | $1 per 1,000 products

Scrape **Product Hunt's daily leaderboard** and homepage launches for any day: product name, tagline, **votes**, comments, rank, topics, and the Product Hunt and website links. Depending on the day, you also get the description, categories, weekly and monthly rank, and a thumbnail. It needs **no API token** and no login, and costs **$1 per 1,000 products**.

### What it can do

- Today's or yesterday's top launches, any specific date, or the last N days (up to 365)
- Homepage feed mode
- Filter by minimum votes or by topic (e.g. *Artificial Intelligence*, *Developer Tools*)
- Schedule it daily for a launch digest, newsletter or Slack alert

### Use cases

- **Investors and VC scouts:** spot breakout startups on launch day.
- **Sales and lead gen:** build lists of newly launched SaaS tools with their websites.
- **Founders and marketers:** benchmark votes and timing before your own launch, and track competitors.
- **Newsletter writers and AI agents:** feed an automatic "top launches today" digest.
- **Market research:** see what's trending in AI, dev tools or no-code over months.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$1.00 per 1,000 products** ($0.001 each). There's no monthly rental, and filtered-out launches are free.

| Job | Products | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Today's leaderboard | ~20 | ~$0.02 |
| Last 30 days of launches | ~600 | ~$0.60 |
| A full year of top launches | ~7,000 | ~$7 |

### Input example

```json
{ "mode": "yesterday", "daysBack": 7, "minVotes": 100, "topicFilter": ["Artificial Intelligence"] }
```

Or pick specific days: `{ "dates": ["2026-10-13", "2026-10-12"] }`

### Sample output

```json
{
  "leaderboardDate": "2026-10-13", "rank": 1, "name": "Articos MCP",
  "tagline": "See how simulated buyers react, right in your agent",
  "votes": 328, "comments": 102, "topics": ["Marketing", "Developer Tools", "Artificial Intelligence"],
  "postUrl": "https://www.producthunt.com/posts/articos-mcp",
  "productUrl": "https://www.producthunt.com/products/articos",
  "websiteUrl": "https://…", "weeklyRank": 1, "monthlyRank": 18,
  "featuredAt": "2026-10-13T00:01:00-07:00"
}
```

### Integrations: API, Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets

- **API:** call `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/moneyreset~product-hunt-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN` with your input as JSON and get results back in one request.
- **No-code:** use the official Apify apps for **Make**, **Zapier** and **n8n** to send results to Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, HubSpot or email.
- **Schedules:** use Apify Schedules to run it daily or weekly, and add a webhook to get pinged when it finishes.
- **Export:** JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or RSS from the dataset tab.
- **AI agents:** works through the Apify MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and other agents can call it as a tool.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Product Hunt API token?** No.
**How many products per day?** It returns the featured launches for each day, usually around 20. Vote counts are live at the time of scraping.
**What time zone are dates in?** Product Hunt days follow US Pacific time.
**Do I need a proxy?** Apify Proxy (datacenter) is on by default, so there's nothing to set up.
**Does it include maker emails or personal profiles?** No. It returns product launch data only.
**Is it legal?** It reads public leaderboard pages with polite delays and no login. Product Hunt's terms restrict scraping and copying significant portions of its content, so check that your use fits the terms and laws that apply to you. This isn't legal advice.

Clients without OAuth support can send an `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_API_TOKEN>` header instead, using a token from API & Integrations in Apify Console (https://console.apify.com/settings/integrations).
