## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Acquire.com Listing Scraper

Collects the startups and online businesses that sellers have listed publicly on Acquire.com and returns one flat record per listing — asking price, TTM revenue and profit, profit and revenue multiples, annual growth rate, business model, tech stack, key assets, competitors, selling reason and the full listing write-up. Filter by keyword, category and a maximum asking price.

### Input

| Field | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `query` | *(empty)* | Keyword to match against the listing headline, e.g. `saas`, `shopify`, `ai agent`. All words must appear. Empty = listings in marketplace order. |
| `category` | *(empty)* | Keep only listings in this category, e.g. `SaaS`, `Ecommerce`, `Mobile`, `Marketplace`. Empty = all categories. |
| `max_price` | `0` | Keep only listings at or below this asking price in USD. `0` = no ceiling. Listings marked "Open to offers" are excluded when a ceiling is set. |
| `limit` | `20` | Maximum listings to return (1–1000). |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Optional | Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results. |

### Output

Each result is one publicly listed business for sale (fields the seller has not disclosed come back as `null`):

```json
{
### Notes
- Runs with empty input (returns the most recent public listings, all categories).
- Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results.
- Only startups the seller chose to list publicly are covered — listings that require a marketplace account are out of scope.
- Intended for research and personal use; please respect Acquire.com's terms of service.
# Actor input Schema
## `query` (type: `string`):
Keyword to match against the listing headline, e.g. 'saas', 'shopify', 'ai agent'. All words must appear. Leave empty to take listings in marketplace order.
## `category` (type: `string`):
Keep only listings in this category, e.g. 'SaaS', 'Ecommerce', 'Mobile', 'Marketplace', 'Content'. Leave empty for all categories.
## `max_price` (type: `integer`):
Keep only listings whose asking price is at or below this amount. Use 0 for no price ceiling. Listings marked 'Open to offers' are excluded when a ceiling is set.
## `limit` (type: `integer`):
Maximum number of listings to return. Each listing is fetched individually, so higher values take longer.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Proxy settings for the run. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results, especially for sites that limit non-US or datacenter traffic. Optional — leave off to run directly.
## Actor input object example
```json
{
  "query": "saas",
  "category": "",
  "max_price": 0,
  "limit": 20,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
