## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Commercial Construction Project Scraper

Scrapes commercial construction projects from **BuildingConnected public bid boards**
(`https://app.buildingconnected.com/public/<orgId>` — the "public plan room" links general
contractors post on their websites). The project list is read from the server-rendered
`BC.publicPage` JSON bootstrap in the page; per-project bid packages (trades / scope of work)
come from the anonymous endpoint `GET /_/public-projects/<projectId>`. Uses `curl_cffi`
with Chrome TLS impersonation.

### Input

| Field | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `bid_board_url` | F.H. Paschen board URL | Public plan-room URL or bare 24-char org id |
| `keyword` | `""` | Case-insensitive filter over name/number/description/location |
| `fetch_details` | `true` | Fetch bid packages (trades/scope) + file counts per project |
| `auth_cookie` | — (secret) | Optional raw Cookie header from a logged-in session; not needed for public boards |
| `limit` | `100` | Max projects (1–1000) |

### Output example

```json
{
  "project_name": "Rebid - O'Hare Airport ORD RNP T5 Steel & Roof",
  "project_number": "22-8112",
  "location": "Chicago, IL, USA",
  "bid_due_date": "2022-06-24T18:00:00.000Z",
  "job_walk_date": null,
  "date_published": "2022-05-27T14:20:01.000Z",
  "general_contractor": "F.H. Paschen",
  "gc_office": "Chicago",
  "trades_scope": ["Structural Steel", "Roofing"],
  "description": "Structural steel and roofing rebid for Terminal 5 ...",
  "project_url": "https://app.buildingconnected.com/public/5565f9b23ad9f70800b26cc0/projects/628f...",
  "bid_board_url": "https://app.buildingconnected.com/public/5565f9b23ad9f70800b26cc0",
  "total_projects_on_board": 305,
  "raw": {"project": {"...": "..."}, "detail": {"bidPackages": [], "files": []}}
}
```

### Data source & auth

Public bid boards need **no authentication**. The page embeds at most ~62 most-recent
projects (`total_projects_on_board` reports the full count); older projects are only
reachable via the logged-in API — supply `auth_cookie` for those boards if needed.
Find board URLs by searching GC websites for `app.buildingconnected.com/public/`.

Respect BuildingConnected/Autodesk ToS and rate limits; the scraper sleeps between
detail requests.

# Actor input Schema

## `bid_board_url` (type: `string`):

BuildingConnected public plan-room URL (https://app.buildingconnected.com/public/<orgId>) or the bare 24-char org id. General contractors publish these links on their websites.

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Optional case-insensitive keyword; only projects whose name/number/description/location contain it are kept. Empty = all projects.

## `fetch_details` (type: `boolean`):

Also call the public project-detail endpoint for each project to get bid packages (trades/scope) and file counts. Slower (one extra request per project).

## `auth_cookie` (type: `string`):

Optional raw Cookie header from a logged-in app.buildingconnected.com browser session. Only needed for boards/endpoints that require login; public bid boards work without it.

## `limit` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of projects to return.
