## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Dealroom Company Scraper

Collects company profiles from the public company directory on dealroom.co. For each company you get the name and one-line tagline, its sector, headquarters city and country, founding year, the published valuation, revenue and headcount ranges, its Power Law tier, the investors listed on the public cap table, mapped headcount, estimated monthly web visits, and the workforce and web-traffic country splits.

### Input

| Field | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Search keyword | `""` (empty) | Keyword matched against the public company directory — a company name, a sector such as `fintech`, or a country such as `Germany`. Leave empty to walk the directory from the start. |
| Company profile URLs | `[]` | Optional list of specific Dealroom company profile URLs (or plain profile slugs). When set, the search keyword is ignored. |
| Max results | `25` | Maximum number of company records to return (1–1000). |
| Fetch full company profiles | `true` | Open each company's profile for valuation, revenue, headcount, investors, traffic and country splits. Turn off for a faster name/sector/country-only listing. |
| Proxy configuration | Apify Proxy on | Optional. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results. |

### Output

One record per company, with flat fields first and the original profile payload kept under `raw`.

### Notes

- Runs with empty input: it returns the first 25 companies from the directory with full profile details.
- Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results.
- Valuation, revenue and headcount are published as ranges on the public profiles, so they are returned as text. Use the collected data in line with Dealroom's terms of use; intended for research and analysis.

# Actor input Schema

## `search` (type: `string`):

Keyword matched against the public Dealroom company directory — a company name, a sector such as 'fintech', or a country such as 'Germany'. Leave empty to walk the directory from the start.

## `company_urls` (type: `array`):

Optional list of specific Dealroom company profile URLs (or plain profile slugs) to scrape. When set, the search keyword is ignored.

## `max_results` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of company records to return.

## `include_details` (type: `boolean`):

When enabled, each company's Dealroom profile is opened and the record is enriched with valuation, revenue and headcount ranges, investors, mapped headcount, web traffic and country splits. Turn off for a much faster name/sector/country-only listing.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings for the run. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results, especially for sites that limit non-US or datacenter traffic. Optional — leave off to run directly.

{
  "search": "fintech",
  "company_urls": [],
  "max_results": 25,
  "include_details": true,
