## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Indeed Job Scraper

Collects job listings from Indeed search results. Give it a search query and a location and it returns each job's title, company, location, salary (with parsed min/max), job type, shift and schedule, benefits, remote flag, company rating, easy-apply flag, posting date, a description snippet and a direct link to the job. Optionally fetches each job's detail page for the full description.

### Input

| Field | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Search query | `python developer` | Job title, keywords or company to search for. |
| Location | (empty) | City, state, ZIP code or 'Remote'. Empty searches nationwide. |
| Max results | `25` | Maximum number of job records to return (paged automatically). |
| Country subdomain | `www` | Indeed country site to search (`www` for US, `uk`, `ca`, `au`, `de`, …). |
| Fetch full job description | `false` | When enabled, each job's detail page is fetched to add the full description text. |
| Proxy configuration | Apify Proxy on | Optional. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results. |

### Output

Each record is one job listing. Example:

```json
{
    "title": "Python Developer Advocate",
- Runs with empty input (defaults to a 'python developer' search).
- Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results.
- Intended for research use; follow Indeed's terms of service.
# Actor input Schema
## `query` (type: `string`):
Job title, keywords or company to search for on Indeed (e.g. 'python developer', 'registered nurse', 'warehouse').
## `location` (type: `string`):
Where to search — a city, state, ZIP code or 'Remote' (e.g. 'Austin, TX', '10001', 'Remote'). Leave empty to search nationwide.
## `max_results` (type: `integer`):
Maximum number of job records to return. Results are paged 10-15 per page.
## `country` (type: `string`):
Indeed country subdomain to search (e.g. 'www' for the US, 'uk', 'ca', 'au', 'de'). Defaults to the US site.
## `include_description` (type: `boolean`):
When enabled, each job's detail page is also fetched and the full description text is added to the record. Slower — one extra request per job. Without it, each record still includes the search-result snippet.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Proxy settings for the run. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results, especially for sites that limit non-US or datacenter traffic. Optional — leave off to run directly.
## Actor input object example
```json
{
  "query": "python developer",
  "location": "Remote",
  "max_results": 25,
  "country": "www",
  "include_description": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
