## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## O'Reilly Auto Parts Store Locator Scraper

Collects O'Reilly Auto Parts store locations from the chain's public store
locator and returns one record per store: store number, address, phone,
coordinates, weekly opening hours and the services that store offers.

This actor returns **store locations, not products**. It does not return part
numbers, prices or stock levels.

### Input

| Field | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `state` | `""` | Two-letter US state code (e.g. `TX`). Empty covers every state. |
| `city` | `""` | City name (e.g. `Austin`), used together with the state. |
| `postal_code` | `""` | Keep only stores with this exact ZIP code. |
| `store_urls` | `""` | Specific store-page URLs, one per line, instead of browsing by state/city. |
| `max_results` | `20` | Max store records to return (1–2000). |
| Proxy configuration | US proxy on | Optional. A US-based proxy gives the most reliable results. |

### Output

Two real records from a test run (`state: "TX"`, `city: "Austin"`):

Each record also carries a `raw` field with the store's original structured
listing data.

### Notes

- Around 6,500 US store pages are published in the locator, so a nationwide run
with a high `max_results` takes a while; filter by state or city for quick runs.
- Opening hours are the regular weekly hours published by the store. Holiday
hours and temporary closures are not included.
- `services` lists what that location advertises (battery testing, loaner tools,
drum and rotor resurfacing, and so on) and varies between stores.
- `price_range` is the range the locator publishes on every store page
(`$1 - $999.99`); it is not specific to one store. `store_url` and
`source_url` are both the store's own locator page.
- If the store locator refuses the run's network, the actor **fails with a clear
error** instead of writing a placeholder record, so a blocked run can never be
mistaken for a successful one. An empty result means the locator answered and
  no store matched the filters.
- Intended for research and personal use; respect oreillyauto.com's Terms of Use
  and keep request rates light.

# Actor input Schema

## `state` (type: `string`):

Two-letter US state code to limit the run to (e.g. TX, CA, FL). Leave empty to cover every state.

## `city` (type: `string`):

City name to limit the run to (e.g. Austin). Used together with the state.

## `postal_code` (type: `string`):

Optional ZIP code. Only stores with this exact ZIP are kept.

## `store_urls` (type: `string`):

Optional list of specific store-page URLs (one per line) to scrape instead of browsing by state and city.

## `max_results` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of store records to return.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings for the run. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results. Optional — leave off to run directly.
