## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## RocketReach Contact Scraper

Collects professional contact records from rocketreach.co. With your own RocketReach API key the actor runs a people search by keyword and company and returns one record per matching professional — full name, current job title, employer and employer domain, location, LinkedIn/Twitter/Facebook links, and the email and phone details RocketReach returns with each profile. Without a key you can instead paste public RocketReach profile URLs and the actor turns each page into the same record shape.

### Input

| Field | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Search keyword | empty | Person name, job title or keyword to search for (e.g. `Chief Technology Officer`). Wrap a term in double quotes for an exact match. Used on API-key runs. |
| Company | empty | Restrict results to one employer. A domain (e.g. `stripe.com`) matches the company domain; anything else matches the current employer name. Used on API-key runs. |
| Public profile URLs | empty | Optional. Public rocketreach.co profile URLs, separated by commas or new lines. Used when no API key is set. |
| Max results | `25` | Maximum number of contact records to return (1–500). Search results are paged 100 at a time. |
| RocketReach API key | empty | Optional. A RocketReach API key from your account settings page. When set, the actor runs a people search instead of parsing individual profile pages. |
| Proxy configuration | Apify Proxy on | Optional. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results. |

### Output

One dataset item per contact; every item keeps the original payload under `raw`.

```json
{
  "profile_id": 12345678,
  "name": "Jane Doe",
  "current_title": "Chief Technology Officer",
  "current_employer": "Stripe",
  "current_employer_domain": "stripe.com",
  "current_employer_website": "https://stripe.com",
  "location": "San Francisco, California, United States",
  "city": "San Francisco",
  "region": "CA",
  "country": "US",
  "linkedin_url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/janedoe",
  "twitter_url": null,
  "facebook_url": null,
  "profile_url": "https://rocketreach.co/jane-doe-email_12345678",
  "emails": ["j***@stripe.com"],
  "professional_emails": ["j***@stripe.com"],
  "personal_emails": null,
  "phones": ["+1415*******"],
  "connections": 500,
  "status": "complete",
  "source": "api_person_search",
  "raw": { ... }
}
```

### Notes

- Runs with empty input: with no API key and no profile URLs it finishes cleanly with zero records, so it is safe to schedule.
- Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results.
- Contact records are personal data — use them in line with rocketreach.co's terms and applicable privacy and anti-spam rules.

# Actor input Schema

## `query` (type: `string`):

Person name, job title or keyword to search for (e.g. 'Chief Technology Officer', 'Marc Benioff'). Wrap a term in double quotes for an exact match. Used on API-key runs.

## `company` (type: `string`):

Restrict results to one employer. A domain (e.g. 'stripe.com') matches the company domain; anything else matches the current employer name. Used on API-key runs.

## `profile_urls` (type: `string`):

Optional. Public rocketreach.co profile URLs, separated by commas or new lines. Used when no API key is set — each page is fetched and parsed into a contact record.

## `max_results` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of contact records to return. Search results are paged 100 at a time.

## `apiKey` (type: `string`):

Optional. A RocketReach API key from your account settings page. When provided, the actor runs a people search instead of parsing individual profile pages. Leave empty to run keyless.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings for the run. Enable a US-based proxy for the most reliable results, especially for sites that limit non-US or datacenter traffic. Optional — leave off to run directly.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "query": "Chief Technology Officer",
  "company": "stripe.com",
  "profile_urls": "",
  "max_results": 25,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
