## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Trade Show Exhibitor Scraper

Scrapes trade show data from **10times.com**: search upcoming events by keyword (with optional city/country filtering), or pull the public exhibitor list of a specific event (company, booth number, location, website). A third mode queries any **Algolia-backed expo site** (e.g. NuernbergMesse sites like euroguss.de) directly through the Algolia Search API using the site's public client-side credentials.

### Input

| Field | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `mode` | `event_search` | `event_search`, `exhibitors`, or `algolia` |
| `query` | `electronics` | Keyword for event search / Algolia query |
| `event_url` | `https://10times.com/himtex` | 10times event page (exhibitors mode) |
| `location_filter` | `""` | Substring filter on venue/exhibitor location |
| `algolia` | `{}` | `{app_id, api_key, index_name, filters, base_url}` from the site's Algolia XHR calls |
| `max_pages` | `3` | Listing pages to fetch (30-40 records/page) |
| `limit` | `100` | Max records |

### Output (exhibitors mode)

```json
{
    "type": "exhibitor",
    "company_name": "Zoller India Pvt Ltd",
    "booth": "2C30",
    "city": "Ann Arbor",
    "country": "USA",
    "website": "https://www.solutions.zoller.info",
    "event_name": "himtex",
    "event_url": "https://10times.com/himtex",
    "source_page": "https://10times.com/himtex/exhibitors?page=1"
}
```

Event records carry `name`, `start_date`, `end_date`, `city`, `country`, `url`, `event_type`, `categories`, `followers`. Algolia records include the full original hit under `raw`.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

event\_search: search 10times.com events by keyword. exhibitors: scrape the exhibitor list of one 10times event (needs event\_url). algolia: generic Algolia-backed expo site (needs the algolia object).

## `query` (type: `string`):

Keyword for 10times event search (mode=event\_search) or the Algolia query string (mode=algolia). Empty = all upcoming events.

## `event_url` (type: `string`):

10times event page URL, e.g. https://10times.com/himtex — its public exhibitor list is scraped when mode=exhibitors.

## `location_filter` (type: `string`):

Optional case-insensitive substring matched against the event venue or exhibitor location, e.g. 'India' or 'Las Vegas'. Empty = no filter.

## `algolia` (type: `object`):

For mode=algolia: {"app\_id": "4EB6G0V1NT", "api\_key": "<public search key>", "index\_name": "prod\_website\_companies\_en", "filters": "site:guss", "base\_url": "https://www.euroguss.de"}. Take app\_id/api\_key/index from the site's Algolia XHR calls in browser devtools (these are public client-side search keys).

## `max_pages` (type: `integer`):

Maximum listing pages to fetch (10times serves 30-40 records per page).

## `limit` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many records.
