## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Airbnb API: live rental prices as JSON

Search Airbnb for a destination and dates and get the listings Airbnb is showing right now, one dataset row per listing: the stay total and the nightly rate as numbers in the currency you pick, the rating and review count, beds, bedrooms and baths, coordinates, a photo and the listing link. Filter by price, type of place, bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, pets and rating. **$1.50 per 1,000 searches**, one charge per search however many listings come back, and Apify's free plan comes with $5 of usage every month.

Run it from the Apify Console, the Apify API or a schedule, or give it to Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT as a tool through Apify's MCP server. It reads Airbnb's public search results; it does not book anything.

### What people use it for

- **Price watching.** A scheduled run with a relative check-in such as `30 days` searches the same city a month ahead every day and never goes stale.
- **Rentals next to hotels.** Put short-term rental prices beside hotel rates for the same trip and dates.
- **Market snapshots.** Nightly rates, ratings and bedroom counts for one neighbourhood, as rows you can load into a sheet or a database.
- **AI travel agents.** One tool call returns priced listings an agent can compare and link to.

### Why this one

- **Money comes back as numbers.** `price_total` is `230`, `price_original_total` is `258`, `currency` is `"EUR"`. The label Airbnb showed is kept in `price_string` if you want to display it as is.
- **Filters run at the source.** Price, type of place, bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, children, infants and pets are Airbnb's own search filters, so the results are already narrowed when they arrive.
- **A flat price per search.** One search is one charge, whether it returns 1 listing or 30. A run that fails (bad input, or Airbnb not returning a readable page) is not charged.
- **Dates that never go stale.** Check-in and check-out take a date or a time from today (`30 days`, `2 weeks`).
- **Live.** Every run reads Airbnb at the moment it runs; nothing is served from a cache. Each row carries `retrieved_at`, the empty-search row included.

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `destination` | string | yes | | Free text as in the Airbnb search box, e.g. `Lisbon, Portugal` |
| `checkin_date` | string | | 30 days from today | `YYYY-MM-DD`, or a time from today such as `30 days` |
| `checkout_date` | string | | 3 nights after check-in | `YYYY-MM-DD`, or a time from today such as `33 days` |
| `adults` | integer | | `2` | Guests aged 13 or over |
| `children` | integer | | `0` | Guests aged 2 to 12 |
| `infants` | integer | | `0` | Guests under 2 |
| `pets` | integer | | `0` | Above 0 limits the search to listings that allow pets |
| `currency` | string | | `USD` | Currency for every price |
| `price_min` | integer | | | Airbnb's own nightly price filter, in `currency` |
| `price_max` | integer | | | Airbnb's own nightly price filter, in `currency` |
| `room_types` | string\[] | | any | `Entire home/apt`, `Private room`, `Shared room`, `Hotel room` |
| `min_bedrooms` | integer | | | Airbnb's own filter |
| `min_beds` | integer | | | Airbnb's own filter |
| `min_bathrooms` | integer | | | Airbnb's own filter |
| `min_rating` | number | | | Out of 5. Applied by the Actor (see below) |
| `sort` | string | | Airbnb's order | `price_asc`, `price_desc` (per night) or `rating_desc`. Applied by the Actor (see below) |

### Output

One row per listing. A live Lisbon search run on 2026-10-23 for 3 nights, 2 adults, priced in EUR:

```json
{
  "name": "Cais do Sodré - Cool New Loft",
  "price_string": "€230 for 3 nights, originally €258",
  "price": 230,
  "price_total": 230,
  "price_per_night": 86,
  "price_original_total": 258,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "nights": 3,
  "rating": 4.92,
  "rating_scale": 5,
  "review_score": 4.92,
  "review_count": 680,
  "room_type": "Loft",
  "bedrooms": 1,
  "beds": 1,
  "baths": 1,
  "location": "Cool, totally refurbished loft with a private balcony in vibrant Cais do Sodré",
  "latitude": 38.70805,
  "longitude": -9.1507,
  "image_url": "https://a0.muscache.com/im/pictures/airflow/Hosting-12605334/original/86dbc2bd-40c5-4186-9946-fee00bb57a8f.jpg",
  "link": "https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12605334",
  "provider": "airbnb",
  "provider_property_id": "12605334",
  "taxes_included": null,
  "available": true,
  "adults": 2,
  "children": null,
  "destination": "Lisbon, Portugal",
  "checkin_date": "2026-11-22",
  "checkout_date": "2026-11-25",
  "search_status": "ok",
  "retrieved_at": "2026-10-23T14:15:34.054Z"
}
```

- `price_total` is the stay total Airbnb showed. `price_per_night` is the nightly rate from Airbnb's own price breakdown when it gives one (otherwise the total divided by the nights); on a discounted listing that breakdown can be the rate before the discount, as in the row above (3 x 86 = 258 before the discount to 230).
- `location` is the listing's subtitle as Airbnb shows it (often a short tagline), not an address; use `latitude` and `longitude` for the place.
- `price_original_total` is the total before a discount, when Airbnb shows one.
- `taxes_included` is `null`: how Airbnb's displayed total treats taxes varies by place and is not established here, so the field does not guess.
- `review_score` and `price` repeat `rating` and `price_total` under the field names hotel datasets often use.
- A search with no listings for those dates returns one row with `"search_status": "empty"` and `"available": false`.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$1.50 per 1,000 searches** ($0.0015 per search). One search is one run: one destination, one stay. You are charged once the listings are saved, whatever their number. A run that stops on invalid input, on a page Airbnb did not return in a readable form, or on a timeout is not charged.

### Good to know

- **One results page per search.** A search returns the first page Airbnb shows for those dates, about 20 to 30 listings in our test searches, not a city's full inventory. Narrow with the price and room filters to get the listings you care about onto that page.
- **`sort` and `min_rating` work on that page.** Airbnb's search has no rating filter and no sort parameter, so the Actor sorts and filters the listings the search returned. `price_asc` means the cheapest of this page, not of the whole city, and it orders on `price_per_night`, which on a discounted listing can be the rate before the discount.
- **Check `nights` on each row.** Airbnb sometimes quotes a listing for a different number of nights than you asked for; `nights` and `price_string` say what it quoted.
- **An unknown place still returns listings.** Airbnb matches the closest place it knows, so check `latitude` and `longitude` when the destination is unusual. (`location` is the listing's subtitle as Airbnb shows it, not a place name.)
- A listing with no reviews yet has `rating: null` and is left out by `min_rating`.

# Actor input Schema

## `destination` (type: `string`):

Free text, the same as you would type in the Airbnb search box. A city, a region or a neighbourhood with its city, for example Lisbon, Portugal or Le Marais, Paris.

## `checkin_date` (type: `string`):

A date (YYYY-MM-DD) or a time from today such as 30 days or 2 weeks. A relative value never goes stale, which suits a scheduled run. Leave empty to search 30 days from today.

## `checkout_date` (type: `string`):

A date (YYYY-MM-DD) after the check-in, or a time from today such as 33 days. Leave empty for a 3-night stay from the check-in.

## `adults` (type: `integer`):

Guests aged 13 or over.

## `children` (type: `integer`):

Guests aged 2 to 12.

## `infants` (type: `integer`):

Guests under 2.

## `pets` (type: `integer`):

Number of pets. Any value above 0 limits the search to listings that allow pets.

## `currency` (type: `string`):

Currency for every price in the results. Each row carries it in the currency field.

## `price_min` (type: `integer`):

Optional. In the currency above. Sent to Airbnb as its own price filter, so the search itself is narrowed.

## `price_max` (type: `integer`):

Optional. In the currency above. Sent to Airbnb as its own price filter, so the search itself is narrowed.

## `room_types` (type: `array`):

Optional. Pick one or more. Empty means any type.

## `min_bedrooms` (type: `integer`):

Optional.

## `min_beds` (type: `integer`):

Optional.

## `min_bathrooms` (type: `integer`):

Optional.

## `min_rating` (type: `number`):

Optional, for example 4.5. Airbnb's search has no rating filter, so the Actor applies this to the listings the search returned. A listing with no rating yet is left out.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Optional. Empty keeps Airbnb's own order. A sort orders the listings this search returned (one results page), not Airbnb's whole inventory; narrow with the price filters first if you need the cheapest in a city. The price sorts use the nightly rate Airbnb shows, which on a discounted listing can be the rate before the discount.
