## Pricing

from $80.00 / 1,000 coloring pages

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Coloring Book Generator

> **Free-plan limit:** Apify free-plan users receive at most 5 delivered records per run. Paid users may use the Actor’s configured result limit.

Generate printable black-and-white coloring book pages as clean SVG vector files. The Actor is deterministic, needs no API key, and returns one schema-valid dataset item per page.

### What it creates

Each item contains `pageNumber`, `title`, `topic`, `pageSize`, `format`, `seed`, and a complete `svg` string. The SVG is black line art on a white background and can be printed directly or converted to PNG/PDF by a downstream workflow.

### Input

```json
{ "topic": "friendly jungle animals", "pageCount": 5, "pageSize": "letter", "complexity": "medium", "seed": 42 }
```

`pageSize` supports `letter`, `a4`, and `square`. `complexity` supports `simple`, `medium`, and `detailed`. Topics are interpreted with a motif library; recognized families include jungle, animals, space, ocean, dinosaurs, vehicles, garden, farm, fairy, and nature. Other topics use a friendly general-animal motif set. Use `seed` to reproduce a book exactly.

### Pricing

This Actor uses **pay-per-event** pricing. These are the current Apify Store event prices:

| Event | Price (USD) | When it is charged |
|---|---:|---|
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.0001 | Actor Start — Charged when the Actor starts running. Number of events charged depends on Actor memory (one event per GB, minimum one event). — Charged once per run. |
| `apify-default-dataset-item` | $0.001 | Coloring page — One printable, schema-valid SVG coloring page written to the dataset. |

Apify platform usage for this Actor run is included alongside the event prices above; no separate per-run platform-usage fee is passed to users.

This covers Apify platform usage for this Actor run. Other Apify products or usage outside this Actor run may still follow your account plan.

### Limitations and compliance

This provider-free generator creates original procedural vector artwork; it does not call an external image model and does not reproduce third-party characters, logos, or copyrighted pages. It is intended for activity sheets and creative prototyping. Always review generated artwork before commercial distribution.

# Actor input Schema

## `topic` (type: `string`):

Use this to choose the subject of the coloring pages; for example friendly jungle animals, outer space, or ocean life. Keep it under 120 characters.

## `pageCount` (type: `integer`):

Use this to set how many unique SVG coloring pages to generate; choose 1 for a cheap canary and up to 50 for a small book.

## `pageSize` (type: `string`):

Use this to select the printable page ratio: letter for US Letter, a4 for A4, or square for a square activity page.

## `complexity` (type: `string`):

Use simple for younger children, medium for general coloring, or detailed for older children; this changes the number of interior patterns.

## `seed` (type: `integer`):

Use this optional integer to reproduce the same set of pages; different seeds create different layouts for the same topic.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "topic": "friendly jungle animals",
  "pageCount": 5,
  "pageSize": "letter",
  "complexity": "medium",
  "seed": 42
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `pages` (type: `string`):

Dataset URL containing one SVG record per coloring page.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Run status, page count, topic, and warnings.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("muhammadafzal/coloring-book-generator").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
