## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 ev stations

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## OpenChargeMap EV Station Scraper

This Apify Actor extracts electric vehicle charging stations from the OpenChargeMap v3 POI API and writes one normalized station per dataset item.

### Input

Use `accessMode=auto` (default) to prefer `OPENCHARGEMAP_API_KEY` and otherwise use the public OpenChargeMap web client configuration. Set `accessMode=api` to require your own API key, or `accessMode=web` to force the API-key-free web fallback. The Actor can use the secret `OCM_PROXY_URL` environment variable for a consistent proxy path. Query by `countryCode`, by `latitude`/`longitude`/`distance`, or by `boundingBox`; optional operator, connector, status, and open-data filters are also supported. `maxResults` is bounded to 10,000.

### Output

Each dataset record includes station identity, coordinates, address, country, operator, status, point count, connector details, access information, verification date, data provider, and a link back to OpenChargeMap.

OpenChargeMap data may have mixed licensing. Review the provider and licensing information returned by the source before redistributing data. Use a custom API key and avoid duplicate or high-volume queries in accordance with the OpenChargeMap fair-use guidance.

# Actor input Schema

## `accessMode` (type: `string`):

Choose api for your own OpenChargeMap key, web for the public OpenChargeMap map client, or auto to prefer your own key and fall back to the public web client.

## `apiKey` (type: `string`):

Optional personal API key. Prefer the OPENCHARGEMAP\_API\_KEY environment variable. In auto mode, leaving this blank uses the public web client fallback.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Optional ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code, such as US, GB, or DE.

## `latitude` (type: `number`):

Optional center latitude for a radius search. Use with longitude and distance.

## `longitude` (type: `number`):

Optional center longitude for a radius search. Use with latitude and distance.

## `distance` (type: `number`):

Radius around latitude/longitude. The unit is selected by distanceUnit.

## `distanceUnit` (type: `string`):

Unit for the radius search.

## `boundingBox` (type: `object`):

Optional geographic box as {"north": 52.0, "south": 51.0, "east": 0.5, "west": -0.5}. Do not combine with a radius search.

## `operatorIds` (type: `array`):

Optional OpenChargeMap operator IDs to filter by.

## `connectionTypeIds` (type: `array`):

Optional OpenChargeMap connection type IDs to filter by.

## `statusTypeIds` (type: `array`):

Optional OpenChargeMap status type IDs to filter by.

## `openDataOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Return only records marked as open-data licensed by OpenChargeMap.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of stations to return in this run. The API request is capped at 10,000.

}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
Dataset containing one normalized record per charging station.
## `summary` (type: `string`):
Run counts, query details, and warnings.
# API
You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.
## JavaScript example
```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';

// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "accessMode": "auto",

};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("muhammadafzal/openchargemap-ev-station-scraper").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
