## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Store Scraper — Products, Prices, Variants, Stock & Store Info

Scrape **every product from any Shopify store**: titles, **prices, compare-at prices and discounts, variants, SKUs, barcodes, stock availability, images, tags, vendors, product types and descriptions**. Or switch to **Store info** mode and get one row per store (name, country, city, currency, number of products and collections) to build and qualify **Shopify lead lists**.

It reads Shopify's public storefront JSON, so there is **no browser, no login and no API key**. A typical store with 1,000 products is done in under 10 seconds.

### Features

- **All products, all variants.** Paginates through the whole catalogue (250 products per request) and returns each product with every variant, option, SKU and image.
- **Works on locked-down stores too.** If `products.json` is disabled, the actor falls back to the store's product sitemap and reads each product page's JSON.
- **Built-in filters:** keyword, in-stock only, min/max price and **"updated since"** — run it daily and get only products whose price or stock changed.
- **Collections:** paste a collection URL (`…/collections/sale`) to scrape just that collection.
- **Clean, flat output:** min/max price, `compareAtPrice`, `discountPercent`, `available`, `skus` and plain-text `description` are ready for Excel, Google Sheets or your price-monitoring database.
- **Rotating proxies included:** Shopify rate-limits cloud IPs; every retry goes out through a fresh Apify datacenter IP.
- **Pay per result.** You only pay for rows in your dataset. Stores that fail cost nothing.

### Use cases

- **Competitor price monitoring** and discount tracking for DTC brands.
- **Product research / dropshipping:** find best-sellers, vendors and price points in a niche.
- **Catalogue migration:** export a full product feed (with images and variants) from a Shopify store.
- **Lead generation:** qualify a list of Shopify domains by country, currency and catalogue size (Store info mode).
- **Market analytics:** track new products (`publishedAt`) and restocks across many stores.

### Use with AI agents (MCP), LangChain, RAG & the API

This actor is a ready-made **tool for AI agents**: an LLM can call it, wait for the run and read clean JSON back.

**MCP server (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, any MCP client)** — add Apify's hosted MCP server with this actor enabled as a tool:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": {
      "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=murch1k/shopify-store-scraper",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }
    }
  }
}
```

**LangChain / LangGraph** (`pip install langchain-apify`, set `APIFY_API_TOKEN`):

```python
import json
from langchain_apify import ApifyActorsTool, ApifyWrapper
from langchain_core.documents import Document
## 1) give the actor to an agent as a tool
tool = ApifyActorsTool("murch1k/shopify-store-scraper")
## 2) or load results as Documents for a RAG index
loader = ApifyWrapper().call_actor(
    actor_id="murch1k/shopify-store-scraper",
    run_input={"storeUrls": ["www.allbirds.com", "https://colourpop.com/collections/lips"], "mode": "products", "maxProductsPerStore": 0, "onlyAvailable": False, "updatedSince": "2026-10-01"},
    dataset_mapping_function=lambda item: Document(page_content=json.dumps(item, ensure_ascii=False), metadata={"url": item.get("url")}),
)
docs = loader.load()
```

**REST API — one synchronous call, dataset items in the response:**

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/murch1k~shopify-store-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<APIFY_TOKEN>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"storeUrls": ["www.allbirds.com", "https://colourpop.com/collections/lips"], "mode": "products", "maxProductsPerStore": 0, "onlyAvailable": false, "updatedSince": "2026-10-01"}'
```

Also works with the Apify Python/JS clients, **Make, Zapier, n8n**, Google Sheets, webhooks and schedules. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or RSS.

**RAG tip:** For a shopping assistant, embed `title` + `description` per product and keep `price`, `available`, `vendor` and `url` as metadata so the agent can filter by price and stock.

### Pricing

- **$2.00 per 1,000 results** ($0.002 per result).
- The prefilled input returns 50 results → **$0.10**.
- Example: 1,000 results → $2.00; 10,000 → $20.00. Set **Max results (cost cap)** to limit any run.

Platform usage is minimal because the actor makes one request per 250 products.

### Limitations

- Only public storefront data is collected (what any visitor sees). Password-protected stores and non-Shopify sites return no rows and are not charged.
- Inventory *quantities* are not public on Shopify; `available` tells you whether each variant can be bought.

### FAQ

**Does it work on any Shopify store?**
On any public Shopify storefront. If `products.json` is disabled the actor falls back to the product sitemap. Password-protected and headless (non-Shopify-hosted) storefronts are not supported.

**Can I monitor competitor prices daily?**
Yes. Schedule the actor and set `updatedSince`; you only get (and pay for) products whose price or stock changed.

**Does it show inventory quantities?**
Shopify does not publish quantities. `available` tells you whether each variant can be bought.

# Actor input Schema

## `storeUrls` (type: `array`):

Store domains or URLs, one per line: <code>allbirds.com</code>, <code>https://shop.example.com</code>. Paste a collection URL (<code>…/collections/sale</code>) to scrape only that collection.

## `mode` (type: `string`):

<b>Products</b>: one row per product with all variants. <b>Store info</b>: one row per store (name, country, currency, product count) — for building and qualifying Shopify lead lists.

## `maxProductsPerStore` (type: `integer`):

<code>0</code> = all products.

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Keep only products whose title, vendor, type or tags contain all of these words.

## `onlyAvailable` (type: `boolean`):

Skip products where no variant is available.

## `minPrice` (type: `integer`):

In the store's currency.

## `maxPrice` (type: `integer`):

In the store's currency.

## `updatedSince` (type: `string`):

Only products updated on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD) — ideal for daily price/stock monitoring.

## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Add the raw <code>descriptionHtml</code> field next to the plain-text <code>description</code>.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many rows in total. <code>0</code> = no limit.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many stores are scraped at the same time.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Shopify rate-limits cloud IPs; the default Apify datacenter proxy rotates IPs automatically on HTTP 429.
