## Pricing

from $1.50 / 1,000 jobs

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Google Jobs Scraper do?

It collects job postings from **Google Jobs** (Google for Jobs), where Google merges listings from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Workday, Greenhouse, company career pages and many other boards. For each posting you get:

- **Title, company, location** and the source board (`via`)
- **Salary** when the posting has one, plus schedule type (full-time, contract, …) and when it was posted
- **Full description** and Google's **job highlights** (qualifications, responsibilities, benefits)
- **Direct apply links** for every board that carries the posting
- Google's stable `jobId` for deduplication and a share link

### Why use this Google Jobs scraper?

- **Low price per job.** It reads Google's job results through Apify's Google SERP proxy, which is included in the per-job price. No browser, no third-party API on top.
- **More than 10 jobs per search.** Google shows about 10 postings per search. With **Get more than 10 jobs per search** on, the scraper also runs close variants (remote, senior, full time, …) and merges unique jobs by `jobId`. It stops once two variants in a row add almost nothing new, and duplicates are never charged.
- **Any country.** Set `country` and put cities in `locations`.
- **Honest failures.** A search that fails after it already returned jobs keeps those jobs; the run fails only when every search failed and nothing was found.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Job searches, e.g. `"python developer"` or `"registered nurse"` (up to 100). |
| `locations` | Optional cities or regions, e.g. `"Austin, TX"`. Every query runs for every location. |
| `country` | Two-letter country code Google searches from: `us`, `gb`, `de`, `in`, `ca`, … |
| `maxItemsPerSearch` | Unique jobs per query and location pair (1–100). |
| `expandSearch` | Get more than 10 jobs per search by running close variants. |
| `maxConcurrency`, `maxRetries` | Parallel searches (1–5) and attempts per page (1–3). |

```json
{
  "queries": ["python developer", "data engineer"],
  "locations": ["Austin, TX", "New York, NY"],
  "country": "us",
  "maxItemsPerSearch": 50
}
```

This example makes 4 searches: each query runs once for every location.

### Output fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `jobId` | Google's stable posting ID, safe for deduplication across runs |
| `title`, `companyName`, `location`, `via` | Posting basics and the board Google took it from |
| `postedAt`, `salary`, `scheduleType` | As shown by Google (`"2 days ago"`, `"59K–99K a year"`, `"Full-time"`) |
| `extensions` | All extension chips as Google shows them |
| `highlights` | `{qualifications, responsibilities, benefits}` lists |
| `description` | Full job description text |
| `applyOptions` | List of `{title, url}`: direct apply links for every board |
| `shareLink` | Google's share URL for the posting |
| `query`, `searchLocation`, `searchQuery` | What was searched, including the variant that found the job |
| `scrapedAt` | ISO 8601 UTC timestamp |

```json
{
  "query": "python developer",
  "jobId": "uRVo5-O2j3zufA0vAAAAAA==",
  "title": "Python Senior Developer - DevOps",
  "companyName": "HCL AMERICA INC.",
  "location": "United States",
  "via": "Indeed",
  "postedAt": "2 days ago",
  "salary": "59K–99K a year",
  "scheduleType": "Full-time",
  "highlights": {"qualifications": ["Strong proficiency in Python software development"]},
  "description": "Job Summary\nThe Senior Developer will be responsible for …",
  "applyOptions": [{"title": "Indeed", "url": "https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=…"}],
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-28T15:00:00Z"
}
```

### How much does it cost to scrape Google Jobs?

You pay per unique job in the dataset. Platform usage, including the Google SERP proxy, is included in the price.

| Plan | Price per 1,000 jobs |
|---|---|
| Free | $2.50 |
| Starter (Bronze) | $2.00 |
| Scale (Silver) | $1.80 |
| Business (Gold) | $1.50 |

Each run also charges $0.00005 for the start. Example: 500 jobs on the Starter plan cost $1.00. Duplicates are never pushed, failed searches cost nothing, and a maximum total charge on the run stops the scraper once the budget is used up.

### Use Google Jobs data in Python

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_API_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("murmuring_headlamp/google-jobs-fast").call(
    run_input={"queries": ["data engineer"], "locations": ["Berlin"], "country": "de"}
)
jobs = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
```

### Tips

- For broad coverage, list several cities in `locations` rather than raising `maxItemsPerSearch`. Each city returns its own set of postings.
- `location: "Anywhere"` marks remote postings.
- Leave the default **Google SERP** proxy on. Through other proxies Google only returns a JavaScript placeholder page.

### FAQ

**Why not every job for a search in one go?** Google loads further postings with JavaScript-only infinite scroll. Search variants and locations get you past the first 10 without a browser. Each run reports how many unique jobs it found.

**The run says Google returned pages without job markup.** Google changed its layout or served a placeholder; the pages are saved as `DEBUG_*.html` in the run's key-value store and the scraper is fixed from them. Nothing was charged for those searches.

**Is it legal?** Job postings are public business listings. The scraper doesn't log in and collects no candidate data. You're responsible for how you use the results.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

What to search for, e.g. "python developer" or "registered nurse".

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Optional cities or regions, e.g. "Austin, TX" or "Berlin". Every search runs for every location. Leave empty to search the whole country.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code Google searches from, e.g. us, gb, de, in, ca.

## `maxItemsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of unique jobs for each search and location pair.

## `expandSearch` (type: `boolean`):

Google shows about 10 jobs per search. When on, the scraper also tries close variants (remote, senior, full time, ...) and merges unique jobs until the limit is reached or variants stop adding new jobs.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Google searches in parallel.

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Attempts per search page, each with a fresh proxy session.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Google Jobs requires the Google SERP proxy; other proxies get an empty JavaScript-only page.
