## Pricing

from $4.00 / 1,000 audio minutes

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What it does

Audio Noise Remover cleans voice recordings. Give it links to audio files and it returns the same recordings with background noise removed: fans, traffic, hum, keyboard clicks, room noise, crowd chatter.

### Who it's for

- **Podcasters and video creators** cleaning up episodes recorded at home or on the go.
- **Course creators** fixing lessons recorded with a laptop mic.
- **Apps** that handle interviews, voice notes, meetings or call recordings and want clean audio automatically.
- **Workflows** in Make, n8n, Zapier or your own code that process audio in bulk.

### Results

On a noisy speech test clip, background noise dropped from -35 dB to -73 dB (about 39 dB quieter) while the voice level changed by less than 2 dB. Cleaning runs about 5x faster than real time.

### How much it costs

You pay **$4 per 1,000 minutes** of audio cleaned ($0.004 a minute), rounded up per file. A 2 min 10 s file counts as 3 minutes. Files that fail or are skipped are not charged.

That is several times cheaper than most voice-cleaning APIs, which charge from about $0.01 to $0.12 a minute.

### Input

| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Audio file links | Direct links to the files. MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC, WebM, or the sound from MP4/MOV videos. |
| Cleaning strength | **Normal** keeps the voice most natural. **Strong** removes more noise but can thin the voice a little. |
| Output format | MP3, M4A or WAV. |
| Longest file to process | Files longer than this are skipped and not charged. Default 120 minutes. |

Example:

```json
{
    "audioUrls": ["https://example.com/interview.m4a"],
    "strength": "normal",
    "outputFormat": "mp3"
}
```

### Output

One row per file:

```json
{
    "sourceUrl": "https://example.com/interview.m4a",
    "outputUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/clean-001.mp3",
    "durationSeconds": 734.2,
    "minutesCharged": 13,
    "error": null
}
```

Download the cleaned file from `outputUrl`. If a file could not be processed, `error` says why.

### Use it as an API

Run it from your own code with the Apify API, or the Python and JavaScript clients:

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("mvisiondigital/audio-noise-remover").call(run_input={
    "audioUrls": ["https://example.com/interview.m4a"],
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["outputUrl"])
```

### Good to know

- Output is mono, which is what speech needs.
- Works best on speech. It is not meant for cleaning music.
- Very echoey rooms improve less than noisy ones.
- Files are processed and stored only in your own Apify storage.

# Actor input Schema

## `audioUrls` (type: `array`):

Direct links to the audio files to clean. Most formats work: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC, WebM, and the audio track of MP4/MOV videos.

## `strength` (type: `string`):

Normal keeps the voice most natural. Strong removes more noise but can make the voice slightly thinner.

## `outputFormat` (type: `string`):

File type of the cleaned audio.

## `maxMinutesPerFile` (type: `integer`):

Files longer than this are skipped and not charged.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "audioUrls": [
    "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Rikorose/DeepFilterNet/main/assets/noisy_snr0.wav"
  ],
  "strength": "normal",
  "outputFormat": "mp3",
  "maxMinutesPerFile": 120
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per input file, with a download link to the cleaned audio.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "audioUrls": [
        "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Rikorose/DeepFilterNet/main/assets/noisy_snr0.wav"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("mvisiondigital/audio-noise-remover").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
