## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Ashby and Lever Jobs Scraper

Open jobs from the career pages that companies host on Ashby and Lever. Name the companies, get their live jobs.

Each job has its title, department, team, location, workplace type, pay when the company lists it, posted date, and the job and apply links. Turn on **Include job description** for the full text. Use **Keywords** to keep only the roles you want, and **Only new jobs** with a daily schedule to get each day's new openings.

### How to find a company's name

- Ashby: the career page address is `jobs.ashbyhq.com/<name>`.
- Lever: the career page address is `jobs.lever.co/<name>`. If it starts with `jobs.eu.lever.co`, put the name under **Lever EU sites**.

### Notes

- Only published jobs are returned, the same list the company shows on its own careers page.
- A name that does not exist is skipped and listed in the run summary.
- Up to 100 boards per run.

### Pricing

Ashby and Lever Jobs Scraper uses pay per event. You pay $0.005 to start a run and $0.0001 for each job, so 1,000 jobs cost about $0.105. There is no monthly fee. Set a maximum cost on a run and it stops cleanly when it reaches it.

### Use cases

- Watch target companies' Ashby and Lever career pages for new openings.
- Spot hiring trends by team and location across competitors.
- Feed a job alert service with fresh listings and apply links.
- Collect pay ranges where companies list them.

### Use it from Python or JavaScript

Every Apify actor has an API. Replace the token with yours from the Apify Console.

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("My_agent_C/ashby-lever-jobs-scraper").call(run_input={
  "ashbyBoards": [
    "ashby"
  ],
  "leverSites": [
    "leverdemo"
  ],
  "keywords": [
    "engineer"
  ],
  "maxJobsPerBoard": 100
})
items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
```

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('My_agent_C/ashby-lever-jobs-scraper').call({
  "ashbyBoards": [
    "ashby"
  ],
  "leverSites": [
    "leverdemo"
  ],
  "keywords": [
    "engineer"
  ],
  "maxJobsPerBoard": 100
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

You can also run it on a schedule, send results to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or n8n, or call it from an AI agent through the Apify MCP server.

#### More questions

**How do I scrape Ashby jobs?** Add the company's Ashby board name, the part of the address after jobs.ashbyhq.com, and run the actor.

**How do I scrape Lever jobs?** Add the Lever site name, the part after jobs.lever.co. EU-hosted sites go in the EU field.

**Do I need an API key?** No. Both job boards publish public feeds.
