## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bluesky Posts Scraper

Get the latest public posts from the Bluesky accounts you name: text, time posted, likes, reposts, replies and a link to each post. Filter by keyword, and run it on a schedule to follow accounts.

- **Accounts:** any public Bluesky handle, up to 50 per run.
- **Filters:** keywords in the post text. Reposts are left out unless you turn them on.
- **Monitoring:** turn on "Only new posts" and schedule a run. Each run returns only posts you have not received before.

### How to use it

1. Add the account handles, like `bsky.app`.
2. Add keywords if you want only certain posts.
3. Run it, then download the posts as JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "accounts": ["bsky.app", "jay.bsky.team"],
  "keywords": ["release", "update"],
  "postsPerAccount": 50
}
```

#### Output example (one post)

```json
{
  "uri": "at://did:plc:example/app.bsky.feed.post/3lxyz",
  "handle": "bsky.app",
  "displayName": "Bluesky",
  "text": "An example post",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-31T10:00:00.000Z",
  "likes": 4,
  "reposts": 1,
  "replies": 2,
  "url": "https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/post/3lxyz",
  "returnedAt": "2026-11-01T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Good to know

- **Public data.** Reads each account's public feed through the Bluesky public API, which Bluesky's robots.txt allows. No sign-in is needed.
- **Accounts only.** Search across all of Bluesky needs a sign-in, so this actor reads the accounts you name.
- **Replies are left out.** Only the account's own top-level posts are returned.
- **Polite pace.** The actor waits between requests and honours Bluesky's rate-limit pauses.
- **Cost.** Each post costs $0.0001, so 1,000 posts cost $0.10, plus $0.005 per run.
- **Cost limit.** If you set a maximum cost for a run, the scraper stops cleanly when it reaches it.

### FAQ

**An account is listed as skipped.** The handle is wrong, or the account is private or suspended. Check the handle.

**Why does a monitoring run return nothing?** The accounts have not posted anything new since the last run.

### Pricing

Bluesky Posts Scraper uses pay per event. You pay $0.005 to start a run and $0.0001 for each post, so 1,000 posts cost about $0.105. There is no monthly fee. Set a maximum cost on a run and it stops cleanly when it reaches it.

### Use cases

- Monitor a brand, journalist or creator account for new posts.
- Archive an account's public posts before they change.
- Build a dataset of posts with likes, reposts and replies for analysis.
- Watch accounts for keywords such as product names or release notes.

### Use it from Python or JavaScript

Every Apify actor has an API. Replace the token with yours from the Apify Console.

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("My_agent_C/bluesky-posts-scraper").call(run_input={
  "accounts": ["bsky.app", "jay.bsky.team"],
  "keywords": ["release", "update"],
  "postsPerAccount": 50
})
items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
```

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('My_agent_C/bluesky-posts-scraper').call({
  "accounts": ["bsky.app", "jay.bsky.team"],
  "keywords": ["release", "update"],
  "postsPerAccount": 50
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

You can also run it on a schedule, send results to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or n8n, or call it from an AI agent through the Apify MCP server.

#### More questions

**How do I scrape Bluesky posts?** Add the account handles and run the actor. It reads each account's public feed through the Bluesky public API, so no login is needed.

**Can I search all of Bluesky by keyword?** No. Bluesky's search needs a sign-in, so this actor reads the accounts you name and filters their posts by keyword.

**Do I need a Bluesky account to use it?** No. It only reads public posts.
