## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews & Ratings Scraper — All 174 Countries

Get Apple App Store reviews and star ratings for any iPhone, iPad or Mac app from **every country storefront in one run**. Most review scrapers read one country at a time, so you miss what users in Germany, Brazil or South Africa are saying. This actor fans out across all 174 storefronts (or the 20 biggest, or the ones you pick), and also returns each app's **average rating and rating count per country**.

No login, no API key, and no reviewer names (see Privacy below).

### What you can do with it

- **Monitor reviews.** Tick *Only new since my last run*, schedule it daily, and send new reviews to Slack, email or Google Sheets. You only pay for reviews you haven't seen.
- **Find bugs fast.** Filter to 1–2 star reviews containing words like *crash*, *login* or *payment*.
- **Compare ratings across markets.** One run gives you rating, rating count and current version for every country.
- **Benchmark competitors.** Add several apps and pull the same countries for each.
- **Feed AI analysis.** Clean JSON with title, text, stars, app version and date, ready for sentiment or topic analysis.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Apps** | App Store URLs, numeric IDs (`310633997`) or bundle IDs (`net.whatsapp.WhatsApp`). |
| **Countries** | `top` (20 biggest storefronts, default), `all` (174), or codes like `us`, `gb`, `de`, `za`. |
| **Max reviews per country** | Up to 500, Apple's limit per country and sort order. |
| **Sort** | Most recent or most helpful. |
| **Only reviews since** | Drop reviews older than a date. |
| **Minimum / maximum stars** | e.g. 1 and 2 for complaints only. |
| **Keywords** | Keep reviews mentioning any of these words. |
| **Include rating snapshot per country** | One row per app and country with rating, count, version and price. |
| **Only new since my last run** | Monitoring mode; give each monitor its own name. |

Example: complaints about crashes or login for WhatsApp in every country:

```json
{
  "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997"],
  "countries": ["all"],
  "maxReviewsPerCountry": 500,
  "maxRating": 2,
  "keywords": ["crash", "login"]
}
```

### Output

Review rows:

```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "reviewId": "14659266093",
  "appId": "310633997",
  "appName": "WhatsApp Messenger",
  "country": "us",
  "rating": 1,
  "title": "missed call notification triggers call",
  "text": "received a missed call notification and clicked to just check it and it just called back the person...",
  "appVersion": "26.40.77",
  "date": "2026-10-12T21:01:19.000Z",
  "helpfulVotes": 0,
  "totalVotes": 0,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-16T18:28:36.338Z"
}
```

Rating snapshot rows (`type: "app"`): `appName`, `bundleId`, `country`, `developer`, `primaryGenre`, `price`, `currency`, `averageRating`, `ratingCount`, `averageRatingCurrentVersion`, `ratingCountCurrentVersion`, `currentVersion`, `currentVersionReleaseDate`, `releaseNotes`, `contentRating`, `minimumOsVersion`, `fileSizeBytes`, `url`.

The dataset has two views: **Reviews** and **Ratings by country**. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read through the Apify API.

### Pricing

Pay per result:

- **$0.15 per 1,000 reviews** ($0.00015 each)
- **$0.001 per rating snapshot** (one app in one country)

Example: 100 recent reviews from each of the top 20 countries plus 20 rating snapshots costs about $0.32. A daily monitor that finds 30 new reviews costs under a cent plus its snapshots (turn snapshots off to skip them).

### Speed

About 3 seconds for one app across the top 20 countries, and about a minute for one app across all 174 storefronts at 500 reviews each.

### Limits

- Apple's public review feed returns at most 500 reviews per country per sort order (10 pages of 50). For the full history of a big app, run regularly with *Only new* and keep the results.
- Reviews are in the language the reviewer wrote them in.
- Apps that are not sold in a country return no snapshot and no reviews for that country.

### Privacy

The actor uses Apple's public iTunes lookup and customer review feeds. It does **not** output reviewer nicknames or profile links. Reviews can still contain personal details that reviewers typed themselves, so treat the text with care under GDPR, POPIA or your local law.

This actor is independent and not affiliated with Apple.

### Feedback

Want Google Play too, keyword rank tracking, or a field that's missing? Open an issue on the Issues tab.

### Changelog

- 1.0: First release. 174 storefronts, rating snapshots, star/date/keyword filters, only-new monitoring.
