## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ALDI Australia Products Scraper (Prices, Unit Prices)

Get ALDI Australia products from any search, category, Special Buys, Lower Prices or Super Savers page: name, brand, pack size, shelf price, unit price per kg / L / 100 g, label, image and product URL, in AUD.

**Price: $1.20 per 1,000 products** ($0.0012 per product) + $0.00005 per run. 100 products cost about $0.12.

### Why this actor

- **No browser, so it's fast and cheap.** ALDI renders its product grids on the server; the actor reads them directly, 30 products per request.
- **Unit prices you can compute with.** `unitPrice` (number) and `unitPriceUnit` ("100 g", "1 kg", "1 L") are split out, so price-per-kg comparisons need no text parsing.
- **Any listing works.** Search terms and every aldi.com.au listing URL use the same input field: categories, Special Buys of a given week, Lower Prices, Super Savers.
- **It handles blocks for you.** ALDI sits behind Akamai. Every retry uses a fresh proxy IP, and a run that gets only "Access Denied" pages fails loudly instead of returning an empty dataset.
- **Duplicates are free.** A product found by two sources is saved and billed once.

### What you can use it for

- Track ALDI prices and unit prices over time (schedule a daily run on the categories you care about).
- Compare ALDI with Coles and Woolworths baskets, per kg or per litre.
- Monitor each week's Special Buys for resale, deal sites or newsletters.
- Feed a grocery price comparison app or an AI shopping agent.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `sources` | array of strings | (required) | Search terms (`"olive oil"`) or aldi.com.au listing URLs |
| `maxResultsPerSource` | integer | 100 | Products per search or URL (30 per page) |
| `maxResults` | integer | none | Products in total for the whole run |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Proxy | Switch to residential (Australia) if runs are blocked |

```json
{
  "sources": [
    "milk",
    "https://www.aldi.com.au/products/bakery/k/920000000",
    "https://www.aldi.com.au/special-buys/2026-10-24"
  ],
  "maxResultsPerSource": 60
}
```

### Output

One item per product. Real example:

```json
{
  "sku": "398596",
  "name": "Pork, Pepper and Oregano Gourmet Sausages 500g",
  "brand": "SPECIALLY SELECTED",
  "size": "500 g",
  "price": 7.49,
  "priceText": "$7.49",
  "currency": "AUD",
  "unitPriceText": "$14.98 per 1 kg",
  "unitPrice": 14.98,
  "unitPriceUnit": "1 kg",
  "label": null,
  "url": "https://www.aldi.com.au/product/specially-selected-pork-pepper-and-oregano-gourmet-sausages-500g-000000000000398596",
  "imageUrl": "https://dm.apac.cms.aldi.cx/is/image/aldiprodapac/product/jpg/scaleWidth/600/d766f912-0a82-49d3-ba60-a6fc3e444f82/Pork%20Pepper%20and%20Oregano%20Gourmet%20Sausages%20500g",
  "source": "https://www.aldi.com.au/products/lower-prices/k/1588161425841179",
  "sourceTitle": "Lower Prices",
  "position": 1,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-23T09:12:41.000Z"
}
```

Two dataset views: **Products** (with images) and **Price comparison** (numbers only, for spreadsheets). Export as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$1.20 per 1,000 products** ($0.0012 per product), plus **$0.00005 per run start**. Proxies and compute are included.

| Run | Products | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 search, `maxResultsPerSource: 10` | 10 | about $0.01 |
| 1 category, default settings | 100 | about $0.12 |
| 5 categories × 300 products | 1,500 | about $1.80 |

If you set a spending limit on the run, the actor stops cleanly when it reaches it and keeps everything collected so far.

### FAQ

**How do I cap my spending?**
Set `maxResults` or `maxResultsPerSource`, or set a maximum cost when you start the run. The actor checks the limit before saving each page.

**Why is `brand`, `size` or `unitPrice` empty?**
ALDI doesn't show them for every product: Special Buys are often "no brand" and non-food items have no unit price. The fields are `null`, never missing.

**Are prices the same in every state?**
These are the prices aldi.com.au shows without a store selected. A few fresh products may differ in some stores.

**The run failed with "blocked".**
Akamai sometimes refuses datacenter IPs. Run again, or set `proxyConfiguration` to residential proxies in Australia.

**Can I use it through the API, Make, Zapier or n8n?**
Yes. Call it with the JSON input above through the Apify API or any Apify integration, then read the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel. AI agents can call it through the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp) (`mcp.apify.com?tools=neatfeeds/aldi-au-products`).

This actor reads public pages of aldi.com.au, collects no personal data, and is not affiliated with ALDI.

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Each entry is a search term (e.g. "olive oil") or an aldi.com.au listing URL: a category (https://www.aldi.com.au/products/bakery/k/920000000), Special Buys (https://www.aldi.com.au/special-buys/2026-10-24), Lower Prices, Super Savers or a search results page.

## `maxResultsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Stop each search or URL after this many products (30 per page).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many products. Each product is billed once; duplicates across sources are skipped for free.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

ALDI sits behind Akamai, which blocks some IPs. Apify Proxy gives every retry a fresh IP; switch to residential (Australia) if runs fail with "blocked".

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "sources": [
    "milk"
  ],
  "maxResultsPerSource": 10,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `overview` (type: `string`):
