## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Restaurant & Business Leads from OpenStreetMap: a Google Maps scraper alternative

Extract **restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels, shops and other local businesses** for any city, bounding box or radius from **OpenStreetMap**. You get name, address, GPS coordinates, website, phone, opening hours, cuisine, diet tags (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free), outdoor seating, takeaway, delivery and more.

It's **fast and cheap**: one query per city, no browser, no proxies, no Google rate limits. The data is **open (ODbL)**, so you can reuse it in your product with attribution.

Use cases: **restaurant lead lists** for B2B sales (POS, delivery, menu/QR software, suppliers), market maps, store locators, hospitality analytics, and enriching CRM data.

### Output (per place)

`name`, `category`, `cuisine[]`, `brand`, `street`, `houseNumber`, `postcode`, `city`, `fullAddress`, `lat`, `lon`, `openingHours`, `website`, `menuUrl`, `phone`, `email`, `facebook`, `instagram`, `reservationUrl`, `wheelchair`, `outdoorSeating`, `takeaway`, `delivery`, `dietVegan`, `dietVegetarian`, `dietGlutenFree`, `stars`, `rooms`, `wikidata`, `osmUrl`, `googleMapsUrl`, `attribution`.

### How to use

```json
{
  "locations": ["Málaga", "Marbella"],
  "countryCode": "ES",
  "categories": ["restaurant", "cafe", "bar"],
  "requireWebsite": true,
  "maxItems": 1000
}
```

- **Cities**: use the local OpenStreetMap name (Kraków, Lisboa, München). Add the **country code** to avoid same-name towns.
- Or give a **bounding box** (`south,west,north,east`) or a **center point + radius**.
- **Categories**: restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, fast food, hotels, guest houses, hostels, bakeries, supermarkets, hairdressers, gyms… or any **custom OSM tag** (`craft=brewery`, `tourism=museum`).
- Filters: only places with a website or a phone.

### Pricing

Pay per place saved. See the Pricing tab. Much cheaper per lead than browser-based Google Maps scrapers.

### Data quality and coverage

OpenStreetMap is edited by volunteers and businesses. City centres in Europe are well covered; contact fields are filled for a share of places (in our Málaga test, roughly half the cafés and restaurants near the centre had a website or phone). Use `requireWebsite` / `requirePhone` to get only contactable leads.

### FAQ

**Legal?** OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and licensed under the **ODbL 1.0**. You may use it commercially; keep the attribution and share-alike terms when you publish a derived database. Each record carries the attribution.

**Personal data?** The actor outputs business venue data as tagged in OSM. Contact fields can be turned off with `includeContacts: false`. Professions that are often single people (lawyers, accountants, doctors) are not offered as categories. If you use contact data for marketing, follow GDPR and ePrivacy rules in your country.

**Which servers are used?** Public Overpass API instances that allow commercial use (overpass.private.coffee, with the VK Maps instance as fallback). You can point it to your own Overpass server.

# Actor input Schema

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Names of cities, towns or districts as they appear in OpenStreetMap, e.g. Málaga, Kraków, Lisboa, Berlin. Use the local name. Combine with 'Country code' to avoid same-name places.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Restricts the city lookup to one country, e.g. ES, PL, PT, DE, FR, IT. Recommended.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Which kinds of places to extract.

## `customTags` (type: `array`):

Extra filters in key=value form, e.g. craft=brewery, shop=bicycle, tourism=museum. Each one is added as another category.

## `bbox` (type: `string`):

south,west,north,east in decimal degrees, e.g. 36.70,-4.45,36.74,-4.40. Used only when no cities are given.

## `center` (type: `string`):

e.g. 50.0614,19.9366 (Kraków Main Square). Used with 'Radius' when no cities and no bounding box are given.

## `radiusMeters` (type: `integer`):

Radius around the center point.

## `requireWebsite` (type: `boolean`):

Skip places without a website tag.

## `requirePhone` (type: `boolean`):

Skip places without a phone tag.

## `requireName` (type: `boolean`):

Skip places without a name.

## `includeContacts` (type: `boolean`):

Include the venue's public phone, email, website and social links as tagged in OpenStreetMap. Turn off if you only need locations.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of places to return (you pay per place).

## `overpassUrl` (type: `string`):

Optional. By default the actor uses public Overpass instances that allow commercial use (overpass.private.coffee, then the VK Maps instance as fallback). Set your own server URL here to use only that one.
