## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does App Store Reviews Export do?

It exports the customer reviews of any iOS app, storefront by storefront, as clean rows:

- **rating** (1 to 5), **title**, **text**, **author**, **app version** reviewed, **date**
- **helpful votes** and total votes
- the App Store ID, the country, and a link to the reviews page

Give apps as App Store IDs, App Store URLs or bundle IDs (`com.example.app`): bundle IDs are resolved automatically.

### What can I do with it?

- **Complaint mining**: set Max stars to 2 and read what users of your competitors hate, before you build or reposition
- **Release monitoring**: sort by Most recent, set "Only reviews after" to last week, schedule it, and see what a new version broke
- **Localization feedback**: compare reviews across us, gb, de, fr, jp, br storefronts
- Feed the rows to a spreadsheet, a BI tool or an LLM for sentiment and topic analysis

### How does it work?

It reads Apple's **public customer reviews feed** (the same RSS/JSON feed Apple publishes for each app). No Apple account, no login, no proxy. Apple exposes up to **500 reviews per app and per country** in this feed (10 pages of 50), newest or most helpful first. Reviews without text (star-only ratings) are not in the feed.

### How much does it cost?

Pay per event: **one event per review exported**. Star and date filters are applied before charging, so filtered-out reviews cost nothing. Use **Max reviews in total** as a hard cap.

### Input example

```json
{ "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/habit-tracker/id1438388363", "com.roehl.habitkit"], "countries": ["us", "de"], "maxRating": 2, "maxReviewsPerCountry": 60 }
```

### Output example (real run, 31 Oct 2026)

```json
{ "appId": "1438388363", "country": "us", "reviewId": "14729823993", "rating": 1, "title": "Nobody eats and drinks their way to a new life", "author": "Junk model", "version": "2.15.9", "date": "2026-10-30T07:22:22-07:00", "helpfulVotes": 0, "totalVotes": 0 }
## `countries` (type: `array`):
Two-letter country codes. Reviews are separate per storefront: us, gb, de, fr, jp, br...
## `sortBy` (type: `string`):
Order in which Apple returns reviews.
## `maxReviewsPerCountry` (type: `integer`):
Apple's public feed exposes up to 500 reviews per app and country.
