## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### eBay Seller Scraper — Store Rating & Sales ✅ No API Key

Look up an eBay seller or store by username or store URL and get its profile as
one row: store name, positive feedback percentage, how many items it has sold,
follower count, logo and store link. Useful for vetting suppliers, screening
competitors and scoring marketplace partners. No API key, no eBay account and no
cookies required.

### ✨ Why this Actor

- **Paste a username or a link.** `cocosmartphones`,
  `https://www.ebay.com/str/cocosmartphones` and `https://www.ebay.com/usr/…`
  all work.
- **Trust signals as numbers.** `positivePercent`, `itemsSold` and `followers`
  are numeric, ready to sort and filter.
- **Billed only for a completed lookup.** A timeout, a blocked page or an upstream
  error fails the run and costs nothing.

### 🔧 How it works

1. Enter an eBay username or store URL.
2. The Actor calls the Neuralverge extraction engine. Store pages are heavy, so a
   run usually takes 30–90 seconds.
3. The profile is written as one dataset row.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `seller` | eBay username or store / profile URL, e.g. `cocosmartphones` |

```json
{
  "seller": "cocosmartphones"
}
```

### What you'll receive

One row: `seller`, `storeUrl`, `name`, `positivePercent`, `feedbackCount`,
`itemsSold`, `followers`, `location`, `memberSince`, `description` and `image`.

Everything arrives in a single Output tab as flat columns: no preview view hides
any field, and no column collapses into a nested cell.

#### Example output (real run)

```json
{
  "seller": "cocosmartphones",
  "storeUrl": "https://www.ebay.com/str/cocosmartphones",
  "name": "The Coco Store",
  "positivePercent": 99.8,
  "feedbackCount": null,
  "itemsSold": 129000,
  "followers": 16000,
  "location": null,
  "memberSince": null,
  "description": null,
  "image": "https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/LIkAAOSweKdhLD7o/s-l140.webp"
}
```

When eBay has no seller with that username, the run writes one explicit row
instead:

```json
{ "seller": "no-such-seller-123", "storeUrl": "https://www.ebay.com/str/no-such-seller-123", "found": false, "message": "..." }
```

### Pricing

Pay per result, charged per dataset row. Starting the Actor is free and there is
no minimum charge per run. Each run writes exactly one row.

- The row is billed whether it carries the seller profile or is the single
  `found: false` row that stands for "the lookup ran and found nothing" — the
  work was performed either way.
- A run that **fails** is never charged: missing or invalid input, an upstream
  error, a timeout, and a page that was never retrieved all write nothing.

### Free plan limits

On the Apify Free plan this Actor can be started 5 times per calendar month per
user and returns at most 1 row per run. Every Neuralverge Actor has its own
allowance, and a run that finds nothing counts towards it. Any paid Apify plan
removes both limits.

### Integrations & API

The dataset is available through the Apify API, and the Actor can be called from
Apify Integrations, scheduled, or chained into another Actor like any other. Rows
export to JSON, CSV, Excel and Google Sheets.

### FAQ

**Which fields are often empty?**
`feedbackCount`, `location`, `memberSince` and `description` are frequently
empty. Store name, positive percentage, items sold and followers are the
reliable ones. The **eBay Item Scraper** Actor returns the seller's feedback
count alongside any of their listings.

**Why did my run time out?**
Some very large stores take longer to load than the data source allows. A timed
out run is not charged — try again a little later.

**Can I get the seller's listings?**
Yes — use the **eBay Store Scraper** Actor by Neuralverge.

**Do I need an eBay account or cookies?**
No.

### Disclaimer

This Actor collects publicly available information from eBay pages. It does not
log in, does not use cookies, and does not access personal accounts. You are

# Actor input Schema

## `seller` (type: `string`):

The eBay username, e.g. "cocosmartphones", or a store URL (https://www.ebay.com/str/…) or profile URL (https://www.ebay.com/usr/…). One seller per run.

## `apiKey` (type: `string`):

Only needed if you want to bill the lookups to your own Neuralverge account instead of paying per result here. Leave empty to use this Actor normally.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "seller": "cocosmartphones"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

The eBay seller profile as one dataset row.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "seller": "cocosmartphones"
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("neuralverge/neuralverge-ebay-seller").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
