## Pricing

from $2.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

AutoTrader links copied from the address bar - their own filters and sort are kept. Searches: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?postcode=SW1A%201AA\&make=BMW , https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/all-cars/bmw?zip=10001\&searchRadius=50 , https://www.autotrader.ca/cars/bmw?atype=C\&cy=CA , https://www.autotrader.co.za/cars-for-sale/toyota . Single listings: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/<id> and https://www.autotrader.ca/offers/<slug>-<id>.

## `market` (type: `string`):

Which AutoTrader site runs the search built from Make, postcode and the filters below. Search URLs keep their own site.

## `make` (type: `string`):

Car make, as written on the site. Examples: BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota

## `model` (type: `string`):

Optional model of that make. Examples: 3 Series, Focus, Corolla

## `zip` (type: `string`):

UK postcode (SW1A 1AA), US ZIP (10001) or Canadian postal code (M5V 2T6) the search is centred on. Ignored on autotrader.co.za.

## `searchRadius` (type: `integer`):

Distance from the postcode: miles on autotrader.co.uk and autotrader.com, km on autotrader.ca. Empty = national. Example: 50

## `minPrice` (type: `integer`):

Lowest price in the market's currency (GBP, USD, CAD, ZAR). Example: 5000

## `maxPrice` (type: `integer`):

Highest price in the market's currency. Example: 30000

## `startYear` (type: `integer`):

Oldest model / registration year. Example: 2018

## `endYear` (type: `integer`):

Newest model / registration year. Example: 2024

## `maxMileage` (type: `integer`):

Highest mileage: miles on .co.uk and .com, km on .ca and .co.za. Example: 60000

## `condition` (type: `string`):

New, used or certified pre-owned (certified: autotrader.com only). On autotrader.co.uk and .co.za it is applied to the results after reading them.

## `sellerType` (type: `string`):

Dealers, private sellers or both (on autotrader.co.za applied to the results after reading them).

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order of the results (a sort the market does not have falls back to relevance, with a log line). Search URLs keep their own sort.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

UK and Canada: one extra request per car for the description, colour, owners, body, doors, seats, engine size, power, drivetrain, all images and the dealer name / phone. US and South Africa rows come complete from the search pages.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Most cars to read from each search. The scraper follows the site's own next pages until this number or the last page (AutoTrader UK shows at most 100 pages = 2,000 cars per search).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel detail requests per market (each with its own proxy session).

## `maxRequestRetries` (type: `integer`):

Tries per request; every retry uses a fresh session (new proxy IP).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxy. Leave the country empty: each market then gets a residential IP in its own country (GB, US, CA, ZA) - autotrader.com and autotrader.ca block most other countries. A country set here is used for every market.
