## Pricing

from $2.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Bluesky Scraper — public Bluesky posts by search term, profile or post link

Bluesky Scraper reads public Bluesky posts through Bluesky's own public API (the AT Protocol AppView). It needs no account, no login and no API key.

It does three things, in any mix:

- **Search terms** → posts matching a word, a #hashtag or Bluesky search syntax (`from:handle`), sorted by latest or top.
- **Profiles** → a profile's posts, newest first, paging through the whole history until your limit.
- **Post links** → one post plus its replies (the reply tree, with depth).

Every row is one post with its text, counts, links, media and the author's public profile numbers.

#### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | list | `web scraping` (prefill) | Words, `#hashtags`, `from:handle` ... one per line |
| `searchSort` | `latest` / `top` | `latest` | Order of search results |
| `searchLanguage` | text | – | Optional language code, e.g. `en` |
| `searchSince`, `searchUntil` | `YYYY-MM-DD` | – | Optional date window for searches |
| `profiles` | list | `bsky.app` (prefill) | Handles, @handles, DIDs or `https://bsky.app/profile/...` links |
| `profileFeedFilter` | select | `posts_no_replies` | Posts only, posts and replies, posts with media, posts with video, author threads |
| `includeReposts` | boolean | `false` | Also return posts the profile reposted (`isRepost: true`) |
| `postUrls` | list | – | `https://bsky.app/profile/<handle>/post/<id>` → the post and its replies |
| `replyDepth` | integer | `6` | Reply levels to follow for post links |
| `maxResults` | integer | `20` | Posts per search term, profile or post link |
| `maxItems` | integer | – | Optional cap on the whole run |
| `proxyConfiguration` | proxy | off | Not needed for Bluesky's open API |

#### Output (one row per post)

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `postUrl`, `uri`, `cid` | Link on bsky.app, AT Protocol URI and content id |
| `text`, `createdAt`, `indexedAt`, `languages` | Post text, post time, index time, language tags |
| `likeCount`, `repostCount`, `replyCount`, `quoteCount`, `bookmarkCount` | Engagement counts |
| `hashtags`, `mentions`, `links` | From the post's rich-text facets |
| `images` | `[{url, alt}]` full-size image links with alt text |
| `videoUrl`, `videoThumbnailUrl` | HLS playlist (`.m3u8`) and thumbnail of a video post |
| `externalUrl`, `externalTitle`, `externalDescription` | Link card |
| `quotedPostUrl` | The post this one quotes |
| `isReply`, `replyParentUrl`, `replyRootUrl` | Reply information |
| `isRepost`, `repostedByHandle` | Set for reposts on a profile (when `includeReposts` is on) |
| `threadDepth` | Post links only: 0 = the post, 1 = direct reply, ... |
| `labels` | Moderation labels on the post |
| `authorHandle`, `authorDid`, `authorDisplayName`, `authorAvatarUrl`, `authorDescription`, `authorFollowersCount`, `authorFollowsCount`, `authorPostsCount`, `authorCreatedAt`, `authorProfileUrl` | Author's public profile |
| `source`, `sourceInput`, `scrapedAt` | `search` / `profile` / `thread`, your input, UTC time |

#### Measured limits (2026-10-03, local runs)

- **Search: one page, at most 100 posts per search term.** Bluesky answers the next page with HTTP 403 "Request forbidden by administrative rules" without login. The Actor stops there and says so in the log; it does not work around the block.
- A `#hashtag` search combined with `searchSince` / `searchUntil` answers HTTP 400 at Bluesky; the same hashtag without dates, or the word without `#`, works.
- Profiles page through the full history: 250 posts of a profile came from 3 pages in our test.
- Post links: a post with 45 direct replies returned 147 replies at depth 6. Very large threads may return fewer replies than `replyCount`.
- Speed: 350 posts in 16 seconds (14 API requests, one per second).

#### Example

```json
{"searchTerms": ["web scraping"], "profiles": ["bsky.app"], "maxResults": 20}
```

Bluesky's developer guidelines ask services that store posts to honour later deletions; re-check stored posts if you keep them long term.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Words, #hashtags or Bluesky search syntax such as from:bsky.app, one per line. Example: web scraping. Bluesky serves only the first page (up to 100 posts) of a search without login.

## `searchSort` (type: `string`):

Search terms only. Latest = newest posts first; Top = Bluesky's ranking.

## `searchLanguage` (type: `string`):

Search terms only, optional. Two-letter language code, for example en or de.

## `searchSince` (type: `string`):

Search terms only, optional. Date as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-09-01.

## `searchUntil` (type: `string`):

Search terms only, optional. Date as YYYY-MM-DD.

## `profiles` (type: `array`):

Handles (bsky.app), @handles, DIDs (did:plc:...) or profile links (https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app). The Actor returns the profile's posts, newest first, paging until the limit.

## `profileFeedFilter` (type: `string`):

Profiles only. Which of the profile's posts to return.

## `includeReposts` (type: `boolean`):

Profiles only. Also return other people's posts that the profile reposted (marked isRepost = true).

## `postUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Links like https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/post/3l6oveex3ii2l. Returns the post and its replies (threadDepth 0 = the post).

## `replyDepth` (type: `integer`):

Post links only. How many levels of replies to follow (1 = direct replies only).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

How many posts to return for each search term, profile and post link. Profiles page through the whole history until this number; searches stop at Bluesky's first page (100).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Optional cap on the whole run. Leave empty for no total cap.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed: Bluesky's public API is open. Turn a proxy on only if you see HTTP 429 errors.
