## Pricing

from $2.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Google News Scraper - headlines, publishers, dates and real article URLs

The Google News Scraper collects news articles from Google News for any keyword or Google News section
(Top stories, World, Business, Technology, Sports ...), in any edition (language + country). Each row has
the headline, publisher, publisher site, publish date, Google News link and, optionally, the real
publisher URL. It goes past the ~100-article limit of a Google News feed by searching date windows.
No login, no API key.

#### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| `keywords` | list of text | `tesla` (prefill) | Search terms; Google News operators work (`"exact"`, `site:`, `intitle:`) |
| `topics` | list of text | - | TOP_STORIES, WORLD, NATION, BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT, SCIENCE, SPORTS, HEALTH |
| `language` | text | `en-US` | Edition language, e.g. en-GB, de, fr |
| `country` | text | `US` | Edition country, e.g. GB, DE, IN |
| `maxItems` | integer | 100 | Articles per keyword or topic |
| `dateFrom`, `dateTo` | YYYY-MM-DD | last 31 days when more than 100 are wanted | Date range searched window by window |
| `decodeUrls` | boolean | false | Add the real publisher URL (2 extra requests per article) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | proxy | Apify RESIDENTIAL | Proxy for Google News |

#### Output (one row per article)

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title`, `source`, `sourceUrl` | Tesla's car business back on growth path ..., Reuters, https://www.reuters.com |
| `publishedAt` | 2026-10-02T14:49:43+00:00 |
| `link`, `guid` | Google News article link and id |
| `url` | https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crn8e86y5n0zo (with `decodeUrls`) |
| `relatedArticles` | other publishers' headlines on the same story, when Google groups them |
| `query`, `queryType`, `language`, `country`, `rank`, `dateWindow`, `scrapedAt` | the input that produced the row |

#### Measured (2026-10-03, local test runs)

- "tesla": 98 articles from one feed in 2 s; 300 articles from 6 date windows in 9 s.
- "bundesliga", German edition, 1-10 Sep 2026: 150 articles from 4 windows in 7 s.
- Business section, UK edition, with decoding: 5 articles and 5/5 publisher URLs in 18 s.

#### Limits

- No article body, author or image (Google News feeds do not carry them).
- About 100 articles per feed; a single day with more than 100 articles is capped at 100.
- Decoding publisher URLs costs about 0.6 MB and 2 requests per article, so it is off by default.

#### Example

```json
{"keywords": ["artificial intelligence"], "language": "en-GB", "country": "GB", "maxItems": 500, "decodeUrls": false}
```

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Search terms, one per line, e.g. "tesla". Google News operators work: "exact phrase", site:reuters.com, intitle:ai.

## `topics` (type: `array`):

Google News sections to read instead of / besides keywords: TOP_STORIES, WORLD, NATION, BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT, SCIENCE, SPORTS, HEALTH.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Edition language (hl), e.g. en-US, en-GB, de, fr.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Edition country (gl), e.g. US, GB, DE, IN.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

One Google News feed holds about 100 articles. For more, the Actor searches date windows (7 days, split down to 1 day when a window is full), newest first.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD. With a date range the Actor searches window by window. Default when more than 100 articles are wanted: the last 31 days.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD, default today.

## `decodeUrls` (type: `boolean`):

Google News links are redirects. On: two extra requests per article return the real publisher URL and its AMP URL (slower).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxy is recommended and is the default.
