## Pricing

from $2.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Remote Jobs Scraper — Remote OK and Himalayas remote jobs, with attribution

The Remote Jobs Scraper collects remote jobs from the official public feeds of **Remote OK** and **Himalayas** and returns them in one schema: title, company, location and timezone limits, employment type, seniority, salary, tags, posting and expiry dates, apply link and full description.

Both feeds are free and need no key. Both ask for attribution, and every row carries what you need to give it.

#### Attribution (required by both sources)

- **Remote OK** API terms (sent in every feed answer, logged on every run): link back to the job's URL on Remote OK with a followed link (no `nofollow`), mention Remote OK as the source, and do not use the Remote OK logo without written permission.
- **Himalayas** API terms: when you display the jobs, show a visible link back to himalayas.app and say the data is sourced from Himalayas.

Each row has `source`, `jobUrl` (the job's page on that source — the link back) and `attribution` (the source's terms, shortened).

#### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| `sources` | multi-select | Remote OK + Himalayas | Which feeds to read |
| `keywords` | list | `python` (prefill) | Remote OK: used as a tag; Himalayas: full-text search. Empty = latest jobs |
| `country` | text | – | Himalayas: jobs open to this country (ISO code or name) |
| `seniority` | multi-select | – | Himalayas: Entry-level ... Executive |
| `employmentTypes` | multi-select | – | Himalayas: Full Time, Part Time, Contractor ... |
| `sort` | select | `recent` | Himalayas search order |
| `maxItems` | integer | `50` | Total, shared between sources and keywords |
| `proxyConfiguration` | proxy | Apify RESIDENTIAL | Proxy |

#### Output

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `source`, `jobId`, `jobUrl`, `attribution` | Source name, ID, link back, terms |
| `title`, `companyName`, `companyLogo` | Job and company |
| `location`, `locationRestrictions`, `timezoneRestrictions` | Where the job is open (Himalayas: country list and UTC offsets) |
| `employmentType`, `seniority` | Himalayas |
| `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod` | Remote OK gives min/max without currency or period, so those two stay empty for Remote OK |
| `tags`, `descriptionText`, `descriptionHtml` | Tags / categories, full description |
| `postedAt`, `expiresAt`, `applyUrl` | Dates (expiry from Himalayas), apply link |
| `searchKeyword`, `scrapedAt` | Keyword that produced the row, UTC time |

#### Measured (2026-10-03, one residential IP, no proxy)

| Test | Result |
|---|---|
| `python`, both sources, 50 jobs | 50 rows in 6 s: 25 Remote OK, 25 Himalayas |
| Himalayas latest jobs, 120 | 120 rows in 10 s, 6 cursor pages |
| `marketing`, country US, senior | 60 rows: 30 Remote OK, 30 Himalayas (30/30 include Senior) |
| Unknown source, keyword with no jobs | Clean stop: error line / "No jobs found" |

#### Limits (measured)

- Remote OK has no pagination: one call returns its latest 99 jobs (per tag). Run on a schedule to build history.
- Himalayas search counts stop at 5,000; the browse feed (no keyword) uses Himalayas' cursor and reported 112,012 jobs. Himalayas refreshes its data every 24 hours and rate-limits heavy use (HTTP 429).
- Remote OK sends some text with broken characters ("world’s"); the Actor repairs them.

#### Example input

```json
{"sources": ["remoteok", "himalayas"], "keywords": ["devops", "marketing"], "country": "US", "maxItems": 200}
```

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Which official feeds to read.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

One per line. Remote OK uses it as a tag ("python", "marketing", "customer support"); Himalayas runs a full-text search. Empty = latest jobs of both feeds.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Only Himalayas jobs open to this country: ISO code or name, e.g. "US", "Germany".

## `seniority` (type: `array`):

Himalayas seniority filter.

## `employmentTypes` (type: `array`):

Himalayas employment-type filter.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order of Himalayas search results.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs in total, shared between sources and keywords. Remote OK gives at most its latest 99 jobs per tag.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxy is the default.
