## Pricing

from $2.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Similarweb Scraper — website traffic, rank and top countries

The Similarweb Scraper returns Similarweb's traffic estimates for any list of domains: monthly visits for the last 3 months, global, country and category rank, bounce rate, pages per visit, visit duration, traffic sources, top 5 countries, top 5 search keywords and AI-chatbot traffic. No Similarweb account.

It reads the same data the official Similarweb browser extension shows; the extension version the endpoint requires is read fresh on every run.

#### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `domains` | Domains or website links: `github.com`, `https://www.bbc.co.uk/news`, `docs.python.org` |
| `maxItems` | Maximum domains per run (default 1000) |

#### Output (one row per domain)

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `domain`, `title`, `description`, `category` | Site identity |
| `globalRank`, `countryRank` + `countryRankCountry`, `categoryRank` | Ranks (country rank is for the site's top country) |
| `monthlyVisits`, `visitsMonth`, `visitsHistory` | Latest month and the 3-month series |
| `bounceRate`, `pagesPerVisit`, `avgVisitDurationSeconds` | Engagement |
| `trafficSources` | Shares: direct, searchOrganic, searchPaid, socialOrganic, socialPaid, referrals, mail, displayAds, affiliate, genAi |
| `topCountries`, `topKeywords` | Top 5 each (keyword volume, estimated value, CPC) |
| `aiTraffic` | Visits from AI chatbots, their share, chatbot split |
| `snapshotDate`, `screenshotUrl`, `similarwebUrl`, `inputDomain`, `scrapedAt` | Context |

#### Measured (2026-10-03, local, see TEST_REPORT.md)

- 3 domains in 5 s; 10 domains in 19 s. Unknown domains are logged as "no data" and produce no row.

#### Limits

- Similarweb publishes only 3 months of visits, 5 countries and 5 keywords through this source; no demographics, no daily data, no competitor list.
- Small sites may have visits but no global rank.

#### Example

```json
{"domains": ["github.com", "gitlab.com", "bitbucket.org"]}
```

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Domains or website links, one per line: github.com, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news, docs.python.org. Paths are ignored; www. is handled by Similarweb.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of domains to read in this run (one row per domain).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxy is recommended (Similarweb's firewall blocks bursts from one IP) and is the default.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "domains": [
    "github.com",
    "amazon.com",
    "bbc.co.uk"
  ],
  "maxItems": 1000,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ]
  }
}
```
