## Pricing

from $53.60 / 1,000 funding records

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Startup Funding Lead Tracker

One structured `funding_record` per record from proven public sources, logged-out. Public, robots-honoured.

Difference: one deduplicated record per company-round, assembled and corroborated across FOUR proven public sources — SEC EDGAR Form D (Reg D private placements), SEC EDGAR Form C (Reg CF crowdfunding, round\_type marked), funding press (TechCrunch venture + Crunchbase News, headline facts only — no body text), and wire press (PR Newswire + GlobeNewswire, funding-event classification on headlines). Every record carries its corroborating source links and an observed-at timestamp; round-level dedupe merges the sources. Y Combinator batches are excluded honestly (their directory is token-gated); the four proven, logged-out legs ship. vs the fleet-1 anchor: a crowdfunding class and wire coverage the anchor doesn't carry, with cross-source corroboration. vs our Form-D watch / vertical / regional trackers: the all-sector, all-source merged flagship.

### What you get

One `funding_record` per company-round, deduplicated on the source-native id. Fields the sources do not publish are honest `null`. A `run_receipt` row carries the source URLs, scope, reconciliation counts, and delivered/duplicate totals.

### How it behaves

Each source is pulled logged-out over a filing window (filedAfter/filedBefore, default the last 14 days): EDGAR full-text search for Form D and Form C, and the press + wire RSS feeds classified for funding events on the HEADLINE ONLY. Events are normalised (company-name cleaned of legal suffixes) and merged by company + announced month into one company-round record with the union of corroborating source links, an observed-at on each, a source\_count and source\_type\_count, and a corroborated flag (two or more INDEPENDENT source types). Facts only — no article body is ever stored. Streaming, bounded to maxRecords.

### Sources & provenance

Every record's `sources` array lists each corroborating hit as `{source, publisher, url, headline, form_type, observed_at}`. `corroborated` is true when at least two **independent** source types agree on the company-round. Press and wire legs are **headline-surface only** — company, round, amount, investors, headline and link are taken from the headline; article bodies are never fetched or stored.

### Y Combinator

YC's companies directory opens only through a rotating embedded Algolia key (token replay), which our access laws forbid — so YC is **excluded** and the four proven, logged-out legs ship. If YC later exposes a logged-out door, it joins as a fifth leg.

### Source

`SEC EDGAR Form D/C (efts.sec.gov) + TechCrunch/Crunchbase + PR Newswire/GlobeNewswire`
