## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Hermès Scraper: Products, Prices & Stock (US)

![Hermès Scraper: products, prices and stock from Hermès' own API, with pay-per-event pricing on an orange box](https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/covJzpRyuS05CjUGY/records/banner.png?signature=1AmN5NEKimgf3zFLhVf2I)

Scrape **hermes.com (US) products by category or keyword**: title, price,
online and in-store stock, colour, size, images and link. Turn on **product
details** to add the description, materials, where it's made, care
instructions, and every colour and size variant with its own stock.

> **Straight from Hermès' own API, no browser.** The data comes from the same
> product API the hermes.com site itself loads, not from scraped pages, so
> it's complete, structured and fast. Category listings run with **no browser
> at all**; product details and keyword searches open the site once to start
> a session, then read the API too.

### Why this scraper

- **Hermès' own data, fast.** Exact prices, stock flags, SKUs, colour and size
  variants and full-size images as the site's API gives them: no page
  scraping, nothing missed when the site's layout changes.
- **Stock monitoring built in.** Category pages list the products in stock in
  the US, each with online and in-store availability: run it on a schedule and
  compare by `sku` to catch restocks and new arrivals.
- **Any category, three ways.** Paste a category page URL, give its code
  (`WOMEN_BAGS_AND_CLUTCHES`) or its menu name (`"Women > Shoes"`).
- **Keyword searches** as in the site's search box, and **product URLs** or
  SKUs.
- **Optional details**, so a stock check stays fast and cheap.
- **Pay only for results.** A category or search that finds nothing costs
  nothing.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Categories** | Category page URLs, codes or menu names. |
| **Keyword searches** | Searches as in the site's search box ("silk scarf"). |
| **Products** | Product URLs or SKUs, always with details. |
| **Include product details** | Description, materials, made in, care, colour and size variants with stock. |
| **Sort** | Relevance, price low to high, price high to low (a price sort reads the whole category, then returns the cheapest or dearest first). |
| **Max products per category or search / in total** | Caps your cost. |
| **Proxy** | Keep the default (Apify residential, US). |

#### Example: bags and silk scarves in stock

```json
{
  "categories": [
    "https://www.hermes.com/us/en/category/leather-goods/bags-and-clutches/womens-bags-and-clutches/",
    "WOMEN_SILK_SCARVES_SILK_ACCESS"
  ],
  "maxItemsPerSearch": 200
}
```

#### Example: a keyword search with details

```json
{
  "searches": ["kelly bracelet"],
  "includeDetails": true,
  "maxItemsPerSearch": 50
}
```

#### Example: specific products

```json
{
  "products": ["https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/cashmere-embroidered-jacket-H6H0239DAA3/"]
}
```

- `inStockOnline` / `inStockInStores`: available to order online / in US
  stores. `displayOnly` products are shown but can't be bought online.
- `images` are full-size product photos.
- Product URLs and searches give `category` as `null` / `"search: ..."`.

### Pricing

Pay per event, platform usage included:

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Run start | $0.01 (at the default 2 GB) |
| Category or search that returned products | $0.002 |
| Product | $1.50 per 1,000 |
| Product details (with **Include product details** or product URLs) | $3.00 per 1,000 more |

Examples:

| Run | Cost |
|---|---|
| 2 categories, 100 products each | about $0.31 |
| 10 categories, 500 each (5,000 products) | about $7.53 |
| 10 categories, 100 each, with details (1,000 products) | about $4.53 |

A category or search with no products is not charged, and the run stops at
your spending limit without charging for anything it didn't deliver.

### Tips

- **Keep the default proxy** (Apify residential, US). hermes.com is protected
  by DataDome; if it refuses an IP, the run moves to a new one and carries on
  where it stopped.
- **Details and keyword searches start slower**: they open hermes.com in a
  browser once (about 30 s), then fetch quickly. Category listings without
  details don't need it.
- **Monitoring?** Schedule the same categories every hour or day and compare
  by `sku`; `inStockOnline` shows what can be ordered right now.

### FAQ

**Other countries?** This Actor covers hermes.com in the US (English, USD).
If you need another country or language (UK, France, Japan...), let me know
through the Issues tab and I'll add it.

**Can I run it on a schedule or through the API?** Yes, like any Apify Actor:
schedules, the Apify API, webhooks and integrations (Make, Zapier, Google
Sheets and others).

**Is it legal?** The Actor collects publicly shown product information; it
doesn't log in. You are responsible for using the data in line with Hermès'
terms and the laws that apply to you.
