## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Coolblue Products Scraper — NL Electronics Catalog

**Coolblue Netherlands** catalog search: **title**, **EUR price**, **rating**, **review count**, **brand**, **availability**, product URL and image — one clean Dataset row per listing. Former list price (`listPrice` / adviesprijs) is filled **only when Coolblue shows a strikethrough discount**.

HTTP-only (`curl_cffi` + Chrome TLS). Parses Coolblue’s public SSR **product-card** HTML on `/zoeken` (no `__NEXT_DATA__` / public JSON search API in v0.1).

> **Proxy:** Default **Apify RESIDENTIAL** with country **NL**. Bare IPs sometimes get 403 — soft-fail error row (honest), not fake empty success.

**Why this Actor:** NL ecom cluster · Clean PPE schema · Keyword **or** search URL · No Playwright · Honest antibot limits

### What this Actor does

| Step | Action |
|------|--------|
| 1 | Accept `query` and/or `searchUrl`, optional `sort` / `maxItems` |
| 2 | Build `https://www.coolblue.nl/zoeken?query=…` (+ `sorteren=` / `pagina=`) |
| 3 | `GET` with `curl_cffi` impersonate `chrome124` |
| 4 | Parse SSR `product-card js-product` blocks |
| 5 | Normalize price / listPrice / rating / reviews / brand → Dataset |
| 6 | Paginate until `maxItems` or empty page |

***

### Input

| Field | Required | Description |
|-------|----------|-------------|
| `query` | One of query/URL | Keyword (e.g. `headphones`) |
| `searchUrl` | One of query/URL | Full Coolblue `/zoeken` URL (keeps filters) |
| `sort` | No | `relevance`, `price_asc`, `price_desc`, `rating_desc`, `popularity` |
| `maxItems` | No | 1–200 (default 40) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | No | Default RESIDENTIAL; Actor injects `NL` if country empty |

#### Example

```json
{
  "query": "headphones",
  "sort": "relevance",
  "maxItems": 40,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"],
    "apifyProxyCountry": "NL"
  }
}
```

***

### Output example

```json
{
  "productId": "936048",
  "title": "Bose QuietComfort Headphones Zwart",
  "price": 230.0,
  "listPrice": null,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "rating": 4.5,
  "reviewCount": 64,
  "brand": "Bose",
  "detailUrl": "https://www.coolblue.nl/product/936048/bose-quietcomfort-headphones-zwart.html",
  "imageUrl": "https://image.coolblue.nl/transparent/max/212x170/products/1969950",
  "availability": "Morgen bezorgd",
  "query": "headphones",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-09-22T20:00:00Z",
  "error": false,
  "errorMessage": null
}
```

***

### Limits

- SSR HTML layout can change (selectors: `product-card`, `sales-price__current`, `review-rating__reviews`).
- No public Coolblue JSON search API found in probe — HTTP HTML only.
- Rating is estimated from SVG star icons when no numeric score is in the card.
- Brand is taken from the first title token when Coolblue does not expose a brand string.

### Soft-fail

On 403 / challenge: one Dataset row with `error=true` and a message citing **RESIDENTIAL + NL**.

### Local smoke

```bash
cd actors/44-coolblue-products
python smoke_test.py
```

# Actor input Schema

## `query` (type: `string`):

Product keyword as on Coolblue.nl (e.g. headphones, iphone 15). Required unless searchUrl is set.

## `searchUrl` (type: `string`):

Optional full Coolblue search/category URL (https://www.coolblue.nl/zoeken?query=…). Overrides query when set; preserves filters in the URL.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Catalog sort via Coolblue sorteren= (applied when building from query; ignored if searchUrl already has sorteren=).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum product rows (1–200). Paginated via ?pagina=N.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Recommended: Apify RESIDENTIAL. If you leave country empty in the proxy editor, the Actor injects apifyProxyCountry=NL. Without NL residential, some IPs get 403.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "query": "headphones",
  "sort": "relevance",
  "maxItems": 40,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ]
  }
}
