## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Flipkart Keyword Rank Tracker — Search Position & Price

**Flipkart keyword rank tracker** for India search: **rank** (position on the `relevance` SERP), **FSN / productId**, **title**, **INR price**, **product URL**. Optional **rank change** when you schedule the same Actor (stored between runs).

HTTP-only (`curl_cffi` + Chrome TLS). Same public Flipkart search cards as catalog search (`window.__INITIAL_STATE__` → `PRODUCT_SUMMARY`). Rank is the order Flipkart returns — **ads and organic mixed**, as on the website.

> **Proxy:** Flipkart sits behind **Akamai**. Production needs **Apify RESIDENTIAL** with country **IN**. Without it you get an honest error row (403/challenge), not a fake empty win.

**Keywords this page should match:** `flipkart keyword rank tracker` · `flipkart rank tracker` · `flipkart search position` · `flipkart keyword ranking` · `flipkart seo rank`

***

### What this Actor does

| Step | Action |
|------|--------|
| 1 | Accept one or more Flipkart **keywords** (how you type them in search) |
| 2 | Optionally accept **product IDs** (FSN / `pid=` on the product URL) |
| 3 | Crawl search up to **maxRank** with sort **relevance** |
| 4 | Assign rank 1…N in that order; page number from Flipkart pagination |
| 5 | If you passed FSNs: one row per id (`found=true/false`) |
| 6 | If you did not: one row per product in the scan (share of shelf dump) |
| 7 | If **persistRanks** is on, save ranks and fill `rankDelta` on the **next** run |

***

### Input

| Field | Required | Description |
|-------|----------|-------------|
| `keywords` | Yes | Search terms, e.g. `wireless earbuds` |
| `productIds` | No | FSNs to locate. Empty = emit the whole top-N |
| `maxRank` | No | Scan depth 1–200 (default 40) |
| `sort` | No | Use `relevance` for keyword rank |
| `persistRanks` | No | Default on — needed for rank change |
| `proxyConfiguration` | No | Default RESIDENTIAL IN |

#### Example (Try it)

```json
{
  "keywords": ["wireless earbuds"],
  "productIds": ["ACCH8Z35ZAJSR9CU", "ACCGPFCN6ZKBF5MD"],
  "maxRank": 20,
  "sort": "relevance",
  "persistRanks": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"],
    "apifyProxyCountry": "IN"
  }
}
```

Schedule that input daily to see `rankDelta` (previous rank minus current; **positive = moved up**). The first run leaves `rankDelta` empty on purpose.

***

### Output example

```json
{
  "keyword": "wireless earbuds",
  "rank": 1,
  "page": 1,
  "productId": "ACCH8Z35ZAJSR9CU",
  "title": "Mivi Duopods B1 …",
  "price": 699,
  "mrp": 2999,
  "currency": "INR",
  "rating": 4.1,
  "ratingCount": 12000,
  "detailUrl": "https://www.flipkart.com/…",
  "found": true,
  "rankDelta": null,
  "previousRank": null,
  "scannedUpTo": 20,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-09-29T12:00:00Z",
  "error": false,
  "errorMessage": null
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|-------|---------|
| `rank` | 1-based position in this keyword’s search results |
| `found` | `false` if you watched an FSN that is not inside `maxRank` |
| `rankDelta` | Only after a later run with persist on |

Not in the dataset: **brand** (too often missing), **organic vs sponsored**, **pincode-specific rank**.

***

### Limitations

- Rank is **what Flipkart paints**, including ads in the grid.
- Location/pincode personalization is **not** modeled.
- Flipkart Terms of Use restrict robots/scrapers; use at your own risk, catalog cards only, no login.
- Akamai: without Residential India the run should **error**, not invent ranks.

Respect Flipkart Terms of Use and applicable laws.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Flipkart search terms to rank, e.g. wireless earbuds. One SERP crawl per keyword. Same words you type in the Flipkart search box.

## `productIds` (type: `array`):

Optional Flipkart product ids (pid on the product URL). If set, the Actor only returns those products (found or not found within maxRank). If empty, every product in the top maxRank is a rank row.

## `maxRank` (type: `integer`):

How far down Flipkart search to go (1–200). Default 40. Products below this depth are found=false when you pass productIds.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Use relevance for keyword rank (SEO position). Other sorts are the position on that sort, not search rank.

## `persistRanks` (type: `boolean`):

Store last ranks in the default key-value store. On the next scheduled run, rankDelta is previousRank minus current rank (positive = moved up). First run leaves rankDelta empty.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Flipkart sits behind Akamai. RESIDENTIAL with country IN is required for a usable SERP. Country IN is injected if you enable Apify Proxy and leave country empty.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "keywords": [
    "wireless earbuds"
  ],
  "maxRank": 40,
  "sort": "relevance",
  "persistRanks": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ],
    "apifyProxyCountry": "IN"
  }
}
```
