# Google Patents Figures — Drawing Sheets Extractor (`noahadler/google-patents-figures`) Actor

Google Patents Figures extracts drawing sheets: PNG URLs of published sheets (D0000N), sheet number, PDF link and patent URL. Google Patents drawings are the published figures, not generated images. For patent research and claim charts.

## Pricing

from $1.05 / 1,000 drawing sheets

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Patents Figures — Drawing Sheets Extractor

Extract **published patent drawing sheets** from Google Patents: PNG figure URLs (`…-D0000N.png`), sheet numbers, PDF link and patent page URL.

This scrapes drawings that patent offices already published. It does **not** generate figures with AI (unlike PatentFig-style tools).

**Keywords:** google patents figures · patent drawings scraper · patent sheets · patent figure extractor · google patents drawings

***

### What it does

| Step | Action |
|------|--------|
| 1 | Input: `patentNumbers` and/or `patentUrls` |
| 2 | Loads each `patents.google.com/patent/…` page |
| 3 | Collects unique drawing sheet PNGs from the HTML |
| 4 | Pushes **one row per sheet** (or one note row if the page has no HTML sheets) |

Hero sibling for search/citations: **google-patents-scraper**.

***

### Input

| Field | Required | Description |
|-------|----------|-------------|
| `patentNumbers` | No | e.g. `US10700376B2`. Default includes two US grants with drawings |
| `patentUrls` | No | Full Google Patents URLs |
| `maxItems` | No | Max sheet rows (default 100) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | No | RESIDENTIAL **US** on Apify |

#### Example (Try it)

```json
{
  "patentNumbers": ["US10700376B2", "US11532839B2"],
  "maxItems": 40,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"],
    "apifyProxyCountry": "US"
  }
}
```

***

### Output (one sheet per row)

| Field | Notes |
|-------|--------|
| `figureUrl` | Direct PNG on `patentimages.storage.googleapis.com` |
| `sheetId` / `sheetNumber` | e.g. `D00001` / `1` |
| `publicationNumber` / `title` / `patentUrl` | Patent context |
| `pdfUrl` | Full PDF when linked |
| `sheetCount` | How many HTML sheets that patent exposed |

US publications with drawings usually expose PNG sheets. Some EP/JP/CN pages only expose a PDF — you still get a note row with `pdfUrl` when available.

### Notes

- USPTO: patent text and drawings are typically not copyright-restricted in the US (see USPTO Terms — Patent information). Still respect third-party exceptions and trademarks embedded in design patents.
- Not an official Google API. Icon is not Google’s logo.

# Actor input Schema

## `patentNumbers` (type: `array`):

Publication numbers as on Google Patents, e.g. US10700376B2, US20230327220A1. US grants with drawings work best for PNG sheets.

## `patentUrls` (type: `array`):

Full URLs such as https://patents.google.com/patent/US10700376B2/en. Merged with patentNumbers.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum dataset rows (one per drawing sheet, or one note row if a patent has no HTML sheets). 1–500.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Patent pages and patentimages CDN usually work over HTTP. On Apify prefer RESIDENTIAL US.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "patentNumbers": [
    "US10700376B2",
    "US11532839B2"
  ],
  "maxItems": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ],
    "apifyProxyCountry": "US"
  }
}
