## Pricing

$100.00 / 1,000 catalogue requests

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## iTunes & Apple Music Search

Search or look up Apple's **iTunes catalogue** — music, podcasts, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, ebooks and apps — and get clean, normalized JSON. No API key, no account, no OAuth, and no anti-bot: it uses Apple's public iTunes Search API.

### What it does

- **Search by term** across any part of the catalogue (songs, albums, artists, podcasts, movies, TV, ebooks, apps).
- **Look up exact items** by iTunes ID, UPC or ISBN.
- Returns **one clean schema** regardless of media type: title, artist/author, album/show, release date, genre, price, content rating, artwork, 30-second preview, Apple store link — plus the **RSS feed URL for podcasts**.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `mode` | `search` (query by text) or `lookup` (by ID/UPC/ISBN). |
| `terms` | Search terms, one per line (mode = search). |
| `ids` | iTunes IDs, UPCs or ISBNs (mode = lookup). |
| `media` | `music`, `podcast`, `audiobook`, `movie`, `tvShow`, `ebook`, `software` or `all`. |
| `entity` | Optional finer type (e.g. `song`, `album`, `musicArtist`, `podcastEpisode`). |
| `country` | Two-letter iTunes store code (e.g. `US`, `GB`, `SE`). |
| `limit` | Results per term (1–200). |
| `maxConcurrency` | Parallel requests. Keep low — Apple throttles the API (~20 req/min). |

#### Example

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "terms": ["Taylor Swift", "The Daily podcast"],
  "media": "music",
  "country": "US",
  "limit": 25
}
```

### Output

One normalized item per result in the dataset:

```json
{
  "query": "Taylor Swift",
  "kind": "song",
  "itunesId": 1700148500,
  "name": "Cruel Summer",
  "artist": "Taylor Swift",
  "collection": "Lover",
  "releaseDate": "2019-08-23T07:00:00Z",
  "primaryGenre": "Pop",
  "country": "USA",
  "priceUsd": 1.29,
  "currency": "USD",
  "artworkUrl": "https://.../600x600bb.jpg",
  "previewUrl": "https://.../preview.m4a",
  "storeUrl": "https://music.apple.com/us/album/...",
  "feedUrl": null
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per use: one charge per **search term or lookup request** processed (not per item), so cost is predictable no matter how many results come back.

### Notes

- Apple's iTunes Search API is public and rate-limited (~20 requests/minute). Keep concurrency low for large lists.
- Podcast results include the `feedUrl` so you can read the show's RSS directly.
- Movie and TV results include Apple's buy/rent catalogue entries and store links.

Max results returned per search term (1–200).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Max search terms (or IDs) to process. One pay-per-event charge per term or lookup request processed.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests. Keep low — Apple throttles the iTunes API (~20 req/min).

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("noniner/itunes-search").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
