## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Apple App Store Reviews Scraper

Collect recent public iOS App Store reviews for one app and country/storefront. Use ratings and review text for product feedback analysis, release monitoring, and competitor research. Export the dataset as JSON or CSV, or retrieve it through the Apify API.

### Price

$0.0001 per successfully delivered review ($0.10 per 1,000). One **Validated result** is one unique review row written to the default dataset. No custom startup charge, failed-request charge, or separate custom review event. The live Pricing tab is authoritative.

### Input example

```json
{"appId":"284882215","country":"US","maxResults":20}
```

Use the numeric app ID from its App Store URL and a two-letter storefront country code, such as US or GB. Availability depends on Apple's storefront feed. maxResults is a ceiling, not a promise.

### Output example

Illustrative shape; values are examples, not a claimed customer observation:

```json
{"id":"example-review-id","title":"Useful app","content":"The latest update improved my workflow.","rating":4,"author":"Example reviewer","publishedAt":"2026-10-01T12:00:00Z","url":"https://itunes.apple.com/us/review?id=284882215&type=Purple%20Software","source":"https://itunes.apple.com/us/rss/customerreviews/page=1/id=284882215/sortby=mostrecent/json"}
```

Review IDs are deduplicated within a run. Repeating a run can return and bill the same review again. Fields include ID, title, text, rating, author, timestamp, source and review URL.

### Limits and reliability

This reads Apple's recent-review feed, not complete historical reviews. It requests at most 10 pages (normally up to 50 reviews per page); actual results can be much fewer. Apple can return empty feeds intermittently, including for popular apps. Empty or invalid responses fail conservatively; no dataset rows are written or review events billed for those failed extractions. Availability is not guaranteed. No login, proxy or anti-bot bypass is used.

### API

POST the input JSON to `https://api.apify.com/v2/actors/nonstop_poacher~apple-app-store-reviews/runs` with `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN`. Poll the returned run ID, then GET `https://api.apify.com/v2/datasets/DATASET_ID/items?format=json` (or `format=csv`). Keep credentials server-side.

### Schemas and operation

Input and dataset schemas are supplied with the Actor. No LLM key or factory service is required. Operated by Wild50. Source terms apply.

# Actor input Schema

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Hard maximum number of validated records to return (1-1000).

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code used by the source feed.

## `appId` (type: `string`):

Numeric Apple App Store application identifier.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "maxResults": 20,
  "country": "US",
  "appId": "284882215"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Validated public records in the default dataset.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("nonstop_poacher/apple-app-store-reviews").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
